as golden afternoon slipped toward a warm-rain evening, silvertongue sought @Ash Paw and @Crowfeather. she supposed they had things to discuss, for she did not know if the shadow had received word of the trial in kvarsheim — for his own lover. and she could not guard such information, if germanicus had said nothing. there was also the matter of the stars, a subject she wished more to focus upon. downriver, in a tiny clearing beginning to glimmer with the soft blinking of fireflies, silvertongue waited.

Ash Paw had not heard much other than Moss had leave them spare him and Akavir had asked him to take them somewhere, but for what she didn't now. It was with surprise and delight she found Silvertongue a small smile on her face.

Hello Silvertongue. She called out kindly. 

Ash Paw was kind when she had a mind to be and if you were kind to her. She could be callous at times, but thus far the pretty silver she wolf had not given her leave or reason to be so.

The shadow was filled with thoughts. He paced the grounds of Riverclan with an expression that did not hide his worry. 

No word of Germanicus had reached him. The silver eagle had said he would be taking this trip, so Crowfeather tried not to let his concern overwhelm him. In the man’s absence they had taken in two injured boys. One of them was Germanicus’ son. The dark star did not know how he might approach such a conversation with his beloved, whenever the older man reappeared. 

His pacing carried him to Silvertongue and Ash Paw. 

Hello, his voice sounded, quiet and thoughtful.

crowfeather was worried; silvertongue felt it as he joined she and ash paw, and reached affectionately to him. a breath, a look to both stars, and then the skies above riverclan. "as you know, germanicus is in kvarsheim now. he was recently accused of aiding an enemy. a woman who was harassing the creek. he is accused of letting her escape and contributing to the injury of at least one creek wolf. but that woman did not want him punished. did he say any of this to you, crowfeather?"

Oh Snap. She blinked. She was not expecting this and she wasn't entirely sure if Silvertongue was doing this to make Crowfeather aware or if some part of her wanted him to stop loving Germanicus. That was the question. So Ash Paw didn't say anything. She simply waited and watched. Wondering. What should she do here.

Crowfeather was caught off guard. His eyes stung with his embarrassment and worry. The shadow looked to the trees, wishing that Germanicus would appear and explain what had happened. There must have been a reasonable explanation. The man was tactful. He would not do something that would have such impact without cause. 

Or so Crowfeather would choose to believe. 

No. He has been away- travelling.

almost as soon as she spoke there was regret for how stricken crowfeather appeared, and how ash paw said nothing. silvertongue was ashamed, and flushed with it. "ask him, when he returns. i am sure there is an explanation, mariposa. i only wanted you to hear it from me first." a breath, pushing on. "we should discuss the ceremony next, si? the dreaming one? and another meeting with the leaders of the creek and kvarsheim."

Realizing her error Ash Paw moved closer to Silvertongue and pressed a paw to the other woman. And then met the gaze of Crowfeather.

It is all true and you should ask him of it. Despite any of it. He shouldn't have been so secretive about it whether he thought wjat he did was right or not. As they say hell is paved woth th3 best of intentions. That man needs to learn to speak his truths or they will fester. Lies and secrets always do.

She made a hmm noise and tilted an ear forward. We can send runners to both perhaps? To have a better meeting?

A tap of her paw. What is dreaming ceremony?

The three-legged wolf was lost in thought. Ash Paw and Silvertongue continued to talk. Their words were lost on him.

What is a dreaming ceremony?

Crowfeather's gaze was fixed on the earth. His honey warm eyes were unblinking, faraway.

The dreaming ceremony is sacred. Only a few will be allowed to do it the first time. It was a dry response, given only to answer the question Ash Paw had asked. The dark figure's gaze remained unflinching on the dark earth. Crowfeather wished that he could speak with Germanicus. He wished that the man was not so far away.

Blinking, the tripod lifted his gaze and frowned.

A gathering will be good. With Kvarsheim and the creek. I can go to one if one if you will go to the other?

what had made crowfeather so? noting that their meeting must be done here, silvertongue nodded. "i will go to the creek, unless ash paw wants to go?" some words more, and then she was rising, smiling at them both as they made their plans to depart. her eyes lingered upon crowfeather, but then the sharpfang found herself moving away in her own comtemplations.
