With a fleeting kiss and a few words, Eivor was gone. Like many others--his eyes tracing the silhouette of her shape as she walked away. He held no final words to leave a lasting impression on her, unfortunately. Mental exhaustion stole that from him for now.

It was a moment of lingering regret and acceptance of what was meant to be as he turned then, his eyes drifting from her form to study the snow covered slopes.

He could not mourn what never was, but he could steal a moment to acknowledge he was bereft.
