All Welcome
"is your guest able to stand?" he asked of @Tierra. the eagle meant @Sybol but assumed she would understand this.

he had come to see the ward of @Aquene. but because it had been one of his auxillaries which brought the man inside, he would summon both of them.

the imperator stood outside the tablinum. his face was impassive.

Tierra had been lazing outside the den, keeping 'watch', when she heard Germanicus' approach. She scrambled to attention and managed to maintain it, shoddily, before he came around the den. Whether or not she managed to fool him, however, was debatable.

I dunno. It's not like I'm a healer. Sorry, imperator. She added the hurried, somewhat formal note when she realized he probably wouldn't appreciate the casual first bit. God, why did he have to always have such a huge stick up his ass?

Internally she bemoaned it, but externally she tried her best to use what she'd picked up so far. She really didn't want to ruin Sybol's chances of sticking around. He had enough of a chance to do that himself, actually, and she hoped he would keep it to a minimum. She was fine knowing how dumb and bad he was at everything, but that didn't mean Germanicus had to.

Hopefully Aquene had given someone an answer, or Sybol could answer himself.

"Hello!" His head snapped up at the sound of voices. One he recognized as belonging to Tierra and the other a stranger. He had stopped automatically trying to stand at least. It seemed a question was asked. About him. "Sorry, I was asleep, can you repeat the question?" He yelled obliviously to the strange voice.

Her own decisions had led her here, remaining diligent to check on Sybol as he started to recover. She had been looking over the wound, just a brief glance, as he slept when the question came. She heard his voice from outside the den and her ears perked up, her gaze shifting to the towering form. “It is better for his recovery to be resting.” She stated simply, being the healer in the room that was capable of making that decision.

His balance could be precarious. “Head injuries can cause issues with balance which make it difficult to stand, so he should remain laying for now.” At least someone seemed more prone to listening to doctors orders… at least, she hoped. She’d nearly lost her mind with Ruenna and Towhee, though she cared for them deeply and she was certain that had contributed to the problem.

"yes, of course, lady aquene."

the imperator felt rather sheepish.

"i mean to gain an assessment of his status and how long it might be before he can join us in our duties or be on his way."

tierra was given a flat look. her approach toward a promotion was not appealing without adjustment to her attitude.

skippable unless she has reason to be addressed!

Thank god Aquene was there. Why had Germanicus even asked her, anyway?

Oblivious to his look, Tierra mostly tuned out of the conversation from that point on, paying less attention to the medical details and waiting for them to get to the point.

By Tierra's reckoning, now that Aquene was taking care of him, she'd actually done them a pretty big favor. She'd recruited them a new member who was obviously super happy to be here and be alive, which meant he'd do whatever dumb stuff they wanted him to. They got a new member, she got a new lackey. (Friend was the better word, but that was way too sincere)

None of this boring stuff even mattered. Once he was ready, Aquene would kick him out of the den and he'd train or whatever. If she was aware there were promotions to consider, Tierra might have tried to put on a slightly more interested appearance. But even that was debateable - purely dependent on, in that moment, whether she felt the title was worth the effort needed.

Sybol waited patiently when another new voice began to speak. He listened to the exchange, his body craned towards the exchanged as far as it could reach without standing. He felt strange being the topic of discussion without actually speaking for himself, but felt that it was probably best. He did talk a lot after all, and he didn't want to have to leave early.

She said it best he not stand. He had learned that the hard way. Although, he wondered if he could be so clumsy because he had suffered too many concussions as a child. He hoped to ask her. He hoped it wouldn't mean he'd have to leave. He was sure he could be useful in other ways. He liked it here, he didn't want to leave.

Aquene hummed at the statement, commanding the presence and respect of everyone in the room as she often did when faced with questions of return to work when she was in the process of healing a patient.

It was easier said than done. “At this point in time it’s difficult to ascertain. Ideally, should he continue his rest and make the progress steadily as he has been doing, another week’s rest will put him back on his feet for whatever is next in his life.” She offered simply, glancing at everyone to see if anyone had more questions as to her medical opinion.

germanicus inclined his head. the medicus was the ultimate authority.

"when you have finished your healing, seek me again," he said to the patient. "your task is to grow stronger. you have the best physician in the land tending your care."

he looked toward the small assemblage, waiting for words to be added before he left them all.

last for me!

Oh good, they weren't going to kick him out. Tierra breathed out in (obvious) relief, though she had to stop herself from saluting somewhat cheekily when Germanicus went all official. Sitting on her paws and all that. She probably shouldn't test him when she was kinda sorta on the hook for Sybol's trial period.

Another week? On one hand it sounded like no time, but that had to be so boring, being stuck for a week with nothing to do. She'd totally keep him company, right? And make sure he was healing, and all that, since she was supposed to keep an eye on him. That meant another week of easy work for her also. Sweet.

She was glad to hear he wasn't dying like she'd originally thought. He better enjoy the rest while he could though! Because once he was better she was so going to kick his butt in a spar.

Last from Sybol. <3
Sybol was excited to start his new life in Mereo. He wouldn't lie and say he wasn't nervous, because he definitely was. He just hoped he didn't disappoint or upset anyone. But he also knew it wasn't possibly to be everyone's friend. He just couldn't wait to get started on his new life.

Casual thread wrap <3
A soft smile formed stubbornly on her features when the man told her patient to seek him out after he had been cleared. The praise falling on her ears though she did her best to not let it show. It was something she still went back and forth with, and she was far from believing his simply flattery that she was the best.

Still, she was good, and she knew it. She dipped her head. “I will also inform you when he is fit to move about.” She offered, a pointed dismissal as his presence affected the healing process. Brain injuries were tenuous and she did not wish for any form of stress to befall her patient. She would tend back towards sorting, knowing he did not need immediate aid and that he merely needed rest.
