All Welcome
Night came fast.

A little changeling upon the sands, bordering towards the basin.
Collapsed in the vast.
Casted in deep sleep.
Her heart erratic.

In a spiral.

Her feet ran. Flashes, burning.
Burning light.
Darkness, devouring her skin.
Aflame in stillness.
A rampant breath, curdled by quivers.
Can't feel.
Can't move.
move.
move.
move.

Delicate ears clamped to her scalp.
With the embers of her eyes closed,
the fire of her lips, diamond mind, stilled;
a creeping softness of water channels
flowed to the surface.
Slow. Liquid. Soft.
Thin limbs.
Passive lips.

Mortal.

Searching for the body of a god.

Shattered into.
Unfathomable pieces.
Soft barks trickled from a tiny throat.
And for a moment, her mind grew small.
Terrorized in a lambs sleep.
Let the gods' child sleep.

May or may not awaken

Toula, guided by steps not her own in halfsleep. followed by an attendant, she mumbled something—she felt called, someplace, somewhere. they must move on. but first—
she seemed to awake in the center of the Pass. and looking down, there was the Mazoi, much loved by her. Toula sings for @Tavina, and rushes closer to press a wrist against head to seek for signs of illness. not hot, only sleeping—the tiny cries were answered with similar ones by the Queen.
wake, she coaxed gently, if you can hear me—open your eyes, see me! show me you are alright, please, please!

she'd taken to painting. not like the priests, but for herself, using dyes gathered elsewhere and her own time alone.

nala, brushed back into life on the dried stems of desert grass.

but the queen was calling, her voice urgent, and tavina descended grimly into the sands alongside the obsidian woman. "heatstroke, perhaps, highness. do you remember what we did for eset?"

She saw. She saw-
Behind those fallen lids, her pupils were alive. They saw firelight.
The gnashing of a thousand teeth, bloodied red, with words in a terrible blur.
She could not comprehend. She did not like- when she could not comprehend.
When she could not understand.
She did not understand.

In a mighty empire,
rich in the sound of molten gold.
Trumpets, bellowing.

The Queen. Voices.
Her voice. The depths of her mind roared again, and this time to a ring that ran orange. There was no distinguish between the coax of reality, and the coax of nightterror.
She heard. She tried.
Her mind cracked with disorientation. If you can hear me, open your eyes. and in dream, she ran from a terrible projection,
berating mix of bleeding imprisonment and red,
and joy of a holy nation.
See me.
But the Queen should know,
that in Legend's third eye,
opened by a force beyond desire,
she could see all of her.

She did not wake. Now her mind clawed for surface.
Her lungs filled in full, stiffly, chest at a rapid rise and fall.

she turned and there was mother—
no, not Treva, she had been gone for so long, how could she think… she did not know.
none of that mattered now, not with Legend on the earth, shifting. and then Tavina was heard. Toula was quick to dart near the head of Legend, and then was beneath it, elevating it as she had for Eset that day. my small rabbitfurs, would you grab them, @Inji, and bring them to the coldsprings here before returning them to Tavina? her own medicinal items she took everywhere.
Iset had been a healer; so too was she. and she sang a prayer for Legend as she had for Eset, hoping the hymn would bring her to.

tavina looked at legend's gums, tried to gently prise the eyelids open to stare at the pupil. she lived, but for how long more the sesh could not say.

they would bathe her brow, her throat, her wrists, hoping to cool her jetstone body. and all the while, toula's soft voice wreathed around them.

not for the first time did tavina wish she believed so strongly in such gods. in anything.

would u guys mind if i hop in here for a couple posts for trade purposes? <3 if not this can just be a cameo!

To Tavina's side does Inji crawl, rabbitfurs and a haphazard collection of supplies in her grasp — cobweb, being one of the ones she knew; chamomile, parsley.
None were guaranteed to be useful, but with her lacking knowledge still came a desire to help! And when her hands were freed, she, too, assisted in bathing.
What happened to her? concern furrows her brows as her gaze switches from sesh to Queen. Did you find her like this?
Rapidly is the prayer joined with the panicked mewl of her own tones. She thinks back to her youth in Minya, the amount of times she had seen such a sight as this, and the fear quickly begins to gnaw at her tightly-closed throat.

not at all!:)
Heavens. Heavens. Heavens.
She feels- distress. And she hates it. She hates the confusion most of all.
With gnashing, grinding teeth, she saw the flurry of twisting bodies.
The roads of the palace, burned with prints of the rioting.
Golden, sickly sunlight on a tranquil day.
The Queen on a high throne.
Entertained children.
Delighted laughter.
Tumbled bricks.
A split of masses, adorned with cracked dunes.
She saw the Queens face- oh, how the
Queens face was being burned inside her mind.
Herself, and even Senmut, stargazing an empty ceiling of uncultivated beliefs.
And smiles that twisted into broken jaws.
Gold and red.
Rich and poor.
Her mouth groaned disturbed whines, her paws extending and her chin pushing down to her neck until she did nothing but nuzzle herself into the bed of it. Her jaw stretched open, open..

Her eyes burst open.
Her body shot up and she lunged for the Queen.
Ears in stress, teeth to wild snaps that never landed and a belly that had hardly left the ground. Growls, warning snaps, cries that urged to defend her defense as she scrambled backwards on unsteady paws. It all happened in an instant. Teeth that never landed, and eyes casted to a vicious cycle of fight until she’d quickly backed herself from threat, threat..
Strangers..
Threat..
Queen.
A soft gasp left her lips.
Those nasty, terrified eyes shattered to gentle and she stiffened.

Inji returned with cloths for Tavina to use, and Toula continued to pray. should she need to administer anything, she surely would. her murmurs were to soothe; to awaken. but she was not specific in the way in which Legend did—
and in times of worry, of fear, the Gods enjoyed reminding her of why she should. poor Legend, so startled! teeth—it was Sobeks mouth that came toward her, as Legend awoke from her darkwater dreams. beneath her weight already, Toula could only defend herself meekly but earnestly—her own fangs would not bite, only prevent Legend from wounding her face.
the rest, were Legend seeking to harm her in earnest, was open—but Toula felt nothing but wind from her mouth, heard nothing but the empty click of one biting at the air. and she saw it all, the panic, the fear—
no hate. none of this was that. and so when Toula noted the gentled gaze, she stepped toward the Mazoi. no time then to answer the questions of Inji, who she shot an apologetic glance to. her questions, she hoped, would provide Inji what she sought. time seemed of the essence.
there is water soaked in the skins that you might drink; be slow, do not do too much too soon. what happened? do you remember what you saw? Toula worried only for Legend then.

their young royal was a credit, manuvering through her own anxiety and fear to give welcome commands and collect the things tavina needed.

when legend snapped, she shoved herself forward, muscling the delirious woman down against the earth. "inji, would you?" the dark woman asked in a brusque voice, gesturing toward the cloths, the water. "we'll help her drink, and then, queen, if you could mix the sleeping potion."

the directions, forthcoming; two portions this, three that, generously mixed with water and tipped into the loose jaws of legend, and all the while tavina held her down, held her close.

She hadn't fully registered the teeth that clipped toward her until a flourish of snapped air sent her reeling backward. She was awake. Yes, frenzied glance moves to the Queen and then to Tavina; the skin, yes, the skin.
She is careful not to cover the darkened nose, only hold it up to chapped lips. It's okay, it's-- it's just us, she tries to soothe, although admittedly, she feels it to be feeble.
What had happened?

And just like that, the surroundings drowned out to be unfamiliar to her. The desert, no longer empty. “I sorry!” The fields of sand she traversed alone in the deep dark was no longer alone. Only sleep, then wakefulness with towering figures with no faces. “‘M sorry!” Her jaws had targeted, lunged, snapped for ones in rapid defense, until her vision saw clearly the royal fur of the Queen. Quicker, the mass of Tavina. Quicker, Tavina’s brute strength down on her body and the imps eyes were apace. “I sorry!

Her voice was quick, unsteady, and her body incredibly still as her eyes darted around the sands. Tavina, Inji, Queen Toula. Queen, Queen- Inji, Queen, Tavina? Her mouth drank from the skins and her breathing was rapid.
So, perhaps, Tavina had been right, and it was better then
that she went to sleep.

last for me <3

legend was assured and coddled; she was half supported, half carried to tavina's examination room, where the sesh would oversee her while a better bed was prepared.
