It became an unspoken routine for Boone to accompany Reverie in her wanderings; she wasn't used to spending so much time with anyone, not since The Gilded Sea, but she fell into it with an ease that surprised her. She found herself thinking of him with each new discovery, looking for his reactions, questioning him for his opinions. Often she found Boone's answers so endearing that nothing would do but that she kiss him.
Reverie spent a lot of time kissing him. Among other things.
They'd just parted from their latest — distraction — and Reverie wasn't sure she'd ever been so content. She stretched out on the boulder she'd chosen to lounge upon in the aftermath, sunning herself and lazily preening her mussed fur. A soft sigh slipped from her as she leaned back, hanging her head down the side of the rock to peer upside down at Boone. Hi, She said, smiling like a fool, and reached out to paw at the air between them.

Well hi there, his lips part in a big, pink-tongued yawn, back pressed against the boulder he now bent his head over. you look comfy, don'cha?
Reverie was a fireball, Boone had begun to learn; a sun-dappled star with an energy level he wasn't sure how he kept up with. And, increasingly, he was growing to become more and more okay with it.
You feelin' alright? he inquires, lips pressing into a lazy smile as he watches the dainty paw now dangled in front of his face.

I feel wonderful, She murmured, reaching out with pale claws and pink toes spreading out to brush through the fur at his cheek. Slowly she traced his features, then drew his face toward hers for a kiss. You make me so happy.
Has anyone ever told you how pretty your eyes are? Her voice was low with renewed desire. Reverie kissed him again, not giving him time to answer. Time turned warm and liquid all around them, a slow melting of gold and silver, and she knew then that she loved him.
She kissed him a third time to stifle her confession. Not now; not yet.
