It was still bright and early in the morning. The sun had just barely began to peak over the mountain ranges in the distance when Blair had finished setting up the initial games opener. With the help of his friends Maverick, Cairn, Riza, Kline, and Jamie, the courses needing put together were done and the word had finally been spread out amongst the Teekons about the traditional "Highland Games" of his homeland. It would be a feat of skills and strength, giving others the chance to prove to themselves just how strong they were. Blair loved the sense of competition and community, and felt it was a no brainer that he would host this event. Especially if it meant he met some pretty ladies also.
The Moonstone Quarry would be the home of the Highland Games as it incorporated within a small area each playing area. From parkour to tug of war, and even the swimming contest, Moonstone Quarry was almost seemingly created by the gods for such a game as this. In the very center of the entire playing field was the place for the initial kickoff where prizes and the feast were also kept.
Blair took the time to look over his kick off circle again. It was a simple stone circle with small flowers , branches from birch trees, and fruits found from all over, signifying community. In the very center was a large pile of large colorful wildflowers that were aromatic. Each flower, leaf, and thistle was placed with intention and purpose as a way to present the start of the highland games.
Blair strategically had his friends stage themselves at various distances and locations to help communicate the start of the games to everyone that was interested in going. Once Blair began to howl, in the distance, his friends calls could also be heard. The message rang clear for all to hear:

Test your abilities and strength as you enjoy communing with your fellow wolf!
Show us what you're made of, and have fun doing it!"

she normally isn't hailed by stranger's voices, but this one is different. it sings out, strong, echoing across the surrounding territories. and the message within it is poetic in a way; it reminds her of Ashlar, and it is with a pit in her stomach that she descends into the quarry, ears perked but face wary.
Avicus soon finds the man who had spoken, standing within a circle adorned with flowers and various greenery. she gazes at him quizzically, only speaking after a moment of quiet contemplation.
a hunt, though. . .a hunt she is always up for.

what is this?she asks, her own voice rough, haggard. she wonders if he is looking for a hunting partner. she hadn't heard mention of it in his song, but then, she hadn't really noted any particular details in said song, only coming by virtue of her own curiosity.
a hunt, though. . .a hunt she is always up for.
but see, amid the mimic rout,
a crawling shape intrude —
a blood-red thing that writhes from out
the scenic solitude

The interest pulled at her, this much was so and as a woman who did not particularly have any responsibility other then to take care of her own self, Kyr wasted no time filling her curiosity. The came to the quarry in a quick trot, taking note of those gathered in various areas all around with items and such at their feet. The huntress comes to the two centered, a collection of plant life situated specifically here. But why?
Head tilted to the side and icy eyes moving over the man,

Highland Games? She had heard the call but had he been the one to voice it? And what kind of games, exactly? Either way, it felt like it had been far too long since the Archer had ant real fun not to at least stay and check it out.

Ruenna had been convalescing within the confines of Moonglow, awaiting the start of the Highland Games. The runner that had come to the Caldera advertising the games had mentioned that they would be held just after the summer solstice, so Ruenna had been in area for a few days at this point.
The Caldera woman made her way toward the summons as soon as it was issued, with a bit more lightness in her lurching gait than usual. Perhaps that was thanks to Kukutux's healing influence?
She would certainly not have the look of an athlete; every limping step was clearly a painful struggle for the Redfern. However, the summons advertised not just competition, but communion as well. Ruenna would attend as a spectator and a cheerleader, meanwhile keeping her ears open for the latest news in the Teekons.

Ruenna experiences chronic lower back pain as a result of an accident from over a year ago. She moves with a very obvious, heavy limp.

Calcifer had been minding his own business and continuing his life as a lone wolf when a harmonious song rang out over the Wilds. It seems to be emanating from one direction and yet it sounded as though it had many sources. He had never heard a howl so long and proud before traveling such a far distance. The howl spoke of a series of games and the coming together of community. Interacting with others was always on Calcifer's to-do list and having fun was an added perk.
With that, he heeded the call and eventually arrived at the source of it. A small crowd had gathered amongst a colorful circle of wildflowers and birch branches. At the head was a large dark male. Small than Calcifer, but with muscles far more defined than Calciferes furry exterior. The backs of the others were towards him, and with that, he was unable to recognize any of them. Taking a seat near the back he waited to see what would come next.

Due to a growth hormone disorder, Calcifer is very large.
He is the wolf equivalent of an 8ft tall man for reference
and has been mistaken for a grizzly bear in the past
but is closer to the size of a giant panda bear. XD
