Huā had made her round back, picking up whichever leaders were interested along the way. Reiko's absence was carefully noted, but Huā did not know all the stress that lay behind that woman. Assuming everyone with her knew the details by now, there had been nothing new to explain, and Huā was gravely quiet as they traveled together, afraid for the very worst.

She was confident in some ways, and yet there was no telling whether the saints would put up a fight, or how easy they would be to remove. Pests, she thought of them, and so if they were anything like fleas... well, that was why they had brought so many to outnumber them.

Once the forest came into sight, Huā paid a nervous glance to the group with her, and then proceeded, eventually finding the borders. Here she stopped to sniff, picking apart a mere four separate scents- more than she had known of, and yet still her group doubled them.

It was here she paused, looking to them- did they want this to be violent? It was best to try and start peacefully, she thought- keep anyone from being unnecessary injured, as much as she wished to tear apart the kidnapper and his whore. And so Huā howled, calling for the attention of this group's leader, for there was an important message to deliver- whether it was through words or force, they would make it heard.

And in the end, here they were. If he could keep Hua on one side and Simmik on the other, that was the way Mal preferred things. He wanted them both to be safe, even if he knew that Simmik was probably far better at fighting than him at this point, but hey, nobody else had to know that. He might not be as physically intimidating as this apparently stripey guy they were going to meet here, but the spotted man would make sure he cut a dashing silhouette between the women. Let the guy wonder about what Mal had boxed inside him, because this was a time for his best poker face. His own issues would have to wait for him to come back to them a few miles away on the side of the road.

But in the end, he didn't know what to expect from them. They could totally just buzz off when they saw they'd pretty much pissed off everyone in a reasonable radius, or they could try to attack or... Who the hell knew. Mal had mapped out about five different scenarios that required various degrees of selflessness on his part and he was hoping for the "they just leave" option the most, it sounded the best, and thus most unlikely, let's be real.

In the end the decision was easy to make. Huā's stories checked out and her own experiences didn't exactly give her hope for the growing pack. They would have to go. Luckily, the sea wolf had done a good job collecting other leaders from nearby territories, only one of which was familiar to the Count. Who knew how far the others had traveled to be here, but at the very least they all agreed. The Saints could not be allowed to settle.

After Huā updated everyone the remainder of the trip had been spent traveling under a thick silence. Maybe it was uncomfortable to the others, but it was something Ira never minded. Who stood amongst them did not concern her now, she could travel to explore the new nearby packs later.

Soon the group came to the edge of the massive trees, looming with the undeniable threat that lingered within. Ira halted casting a sparing glance to her Constable as Huā let forth a summoning howl. She could feel the tense emotions that seemed to buzz amongst the others, but there was no doubt in her mind that they would succeed. They outnumbered their target, even if it came to a fight they would come out on top. For now, all the Count could do was wait until their leader came forth.

Once again they found themselves at the borders of the bleeding woods. This time with many more individuals than just Ira and himself, and this time, he didn't have to keep his mouth shut in order to keep the meeting as diplomatic as possible. This time, the idea was to make sure these individuals left and they were gone as possible, away from the packs they were all too close too and to bring whatever trouble with them somewhere else.

This was the power of "playing nice", working together to muscle out a bigger problem by coming together and deciding on a course of action as a team rather than scattered units clawing for a seat at the top. He knew all too well why the wolves of the vale weren't joining, none of them able to separate themselves from their inner turmoil after Ira had informed him to keep an eye on them, to report back and ensure that Collision's words were true. Unfortunately, even he himself wasn't able to do that just yet now that this bigger issue arose.

Hopefully, that wouldn't paint the vale wolves in a bad light, that they would be forgiven eventually.

Sitting near Ira in the gathered group, he was ready for the worst should these individuals fight for their right to remain in their chosen location. He too hoped they would leave without a fight, but should they not, he was ready for everything to turn ugly. The sea wolf called for the leader of the group and the ball began to roll, soon enough, the waiting would be over.

Faerie queen*
Fear hadn't brought her to the conclusion she needed a guard - it was more so to preserve the queen of the faeries, make sure she'd still be around when their own spark grew into a flame. She'd been the one to propose the court, and she was afraid her family would fall apart slowly without her there. She could not die in a squabble over problems that had not befallen her yet, therefore she was glad to have Dante and Valiant with her. The other men were left behind to fight off intruders, should the situation get out of hand. The other girls needed as much protection as her in that case.

The trio was picked up by Huā and quietly followed her to the forest of blood. She recognized its scent, only from when Donovan had come strolling through their forest. She gritted her teeth at the thought - even when shown kindness was the man something akin to filth. There was no mending or saving him from the being he had become, not after all he had done.

She watched the others - recognizing only the duo of Kaistleoki wolves and the sea queen herself. It wasn't soon after she realized she knew nearly no one here that Huā sent out a call to the leader of these supposed Saints, beckoning the danger toward them. She looked to Dante and Valiant, hoping she hadn't dragged them into something that would soon turn sour and unholy.

She stayed close to Mal, thankful that Huā was on his other side. They knew the extent of her involvement in all of this and for some reason, that made her feel better about being back here before she had really thought through everything.

Still her heart slammed against the sides of her chest as they stopped at the edge of the forest she knew so well. She wasn't sure how this would go; she didn't want any violence for a number of reasons and hoped she could help keep things from ramping up, but she knew she could only do so much. And if it came down to it, she was a warrior and would do what was needed to keep her pack and their allies safe.

She met the sea wolf's gaze when she looked back, her own thoughts of keeping things peaceful mirroring the Beta's own thoughts. And when she called for Donovan, Simmik's fiery gaze searched the trees, looking for the first sign of movement as her stomach tied itself in knots. She was careful to keep her face expressionless, though; it was important that she keep her cool.

The stains of blood cover the entirety of his muzzle and splattered on his chest. A hunt gone right and the aftermath of shoving his muzzle deep into the animals gut to get at the softer organs. Though he isn’t able to bask in the hunt for long; as a single howl sounds through the air, his ears swivel in every which direction. Brows furrow and he realizes the howl is unfamiliar. Surely this can’t be good.

He bids his body to move and dodge trees as he gathers himself into a gallop. Finally the monstrous sequoias thin out enough to reveal his sturdy form. Head held high accompanied by a casual expression. Though seeing all these new faces, some old and familiar in both good ways and bad, he raises his white eyebrows and he can’t help the smile that contorts his face handsomely. Canary hues gleam with suspicion and his smirk is positively devilish, but still bordering on casual. The blood that covered his maw remains, painting him to look like the devil himself. For the cherry on top, a flat black tongue flicks over his lips and whiskers, wiping some of the blood clean and quietly smacking his lips to get a good taste of it.

The curled appendage on his hips sway as he steps forward to face the group head on. Walking languidly to stop a comfortable twenty or so feet away from them he nods his head. Recognizing Simmik of course first. His eyes wandering over her face, searching for emotions that are currently well hidden. Then Huā, then the black and white wolf he remembers accidentally wandering into their territory. The rest of them he can’t quite put a finger on.

So here he is, the leader of the ever growing and malicious pack of the Saints of the Dying Light. He’s confident in his stature as he watches them. Finally, his voice cuts through the silence. “It seems you’ve called me.” He hums, though the tone of voice he uses is playful there’s a malicious undertone to it. He tilts his head. “Have you come to kill me?” He asks deeply, more serious this time.

The arrival of the man who knew her as Nüwa, covered in blood of likely some other poor victim who had been snatched from her home, wearing a vicious smile and acting cocky as ever, somehow only heightened Huā's confidence. This was the right move. Those who prided themselves in being savage were not welcome in the land of the civilized, too small-minded to understand anything beyond beastliness. Huā believed in her sister's gods in a very casual way, but brutes like this made her realize there was a sort of evolution too, and some were left behind in the brains department, eating their own kind and tormenting civilized societies for fun.

It seems you've called me, Donovan uttered.
No shit, Sherlock, Huā thought to return, but held her tongue for a short moment.

Have you come to kill me?

Probably not, She hummed casually, flicking an ear, mentally mocking the way he approached things so comfortably- though this personal joke would not be obvious on the outside. Unless you push us to this point. We here to give you a message, which you will heed, if you have brain in that thick skull. Here she paused- was this bravery, or stupidity? Was it good to be bold in the face of danger? Huā thought of Hydra. The woman who was not overly large, but carried herself like a civil beast, and commanded the land with her confident words that were not oft questioned.

Huā was not a warrior, and less experienced than her role model. But she assumed the only way to down the path of gaining a reputation as a strong and powerful leader, was to act as one. And no matter how Donovan outwardly acted respectful to some, all the undertones of his words about worthiness, all the crimes he committed behind the backs of those who once called him friend, made him undeserving of respect. Considering none of his friends had shown up, he was severely outnumbered as well... and Huā figured eight wolves were capable of downing a single half blood, if things came to this.

So she only went on.

We- Yuèlóng, Kaistleoki- gesturing black muzzle to that pair, and each after in turn, Seelie Court, Neverwinter. None of us welcome you in this land. All of us experience your abr-abrasive personality in some way. You are not like us. If you stay here, in these wood, you are surround on four side by those who do not like you... and we not trust you around our pack, either. She was quiet then, face solemn as she turned seaglass back to her companions momentarily to see if any of them had their own inputs. She was sure some would. As she waited though, gaze fell daringly back to Donovan, ready for whatever ugly words he might throw back at her, and prepared to swallow them all.

Permission to skip mal!

It wouldn't take long for the man to appear, blood on his maw as it had been their first encounter. It only further solidified his image of a savage. The leader seemed to care little for appearances, at least not where it mattered. This time Ira did little to hide the disdain on her face.

Have you come to kill me?

Huā was the one to answer him moving straight to the point as she revealed why they had all gathered. She gestured to each offering pack introductions should the man not know, but her own visit had been only a few days prior. The four packs had Donovan surrounded in territory, whatever action he chose would not end well unless he heeded their message.

You have claimed to only do what comes naturally. If that is so, it would be wise of you to move now while it is still easy. You have few members, only a promise and weakly claimed land. Move far from here, where your ideals mesh with your surroundings.

Her gaze slipped to the sea wolf that gathered them, a moment of acknowledgment before continuing her share, It would be smart to listen now if you are not as unreasonable as you claim to be. You will not like what follows should we be forced to return.

Okay this guy -- could he be more theatrical? Mal just found him pretty gross since he really didn't seem to care -- Simmik must have met with him on a good day. What a waste of interesting markings... And given the way he swaggered on out here, the guy probably thought he owned the world -- and it made him that much more certain that Donovan had gone out of his way to attempt to lure Simmik in just for giggles. He'd probably have wrung every drop of goodness out of her and ditched her in the most cruel way he could think of. Not gonna happen, Mal would have fun making sure everyone he ran across knew Donovan was off his rocker. That nice little thought pretty much balanced out the suspicion and other negative thoughts, keeping Mal's outward expression neutral as things went on.

It's not like he said anything that made Mal think anything different. He thought they were gonna kill him? Really? Kinda said something about whatever world this guy was from. Kidnapping was totes ok and so was attacking people, but giving people a warning wasn't a thing. Was he the black headed wench's long lost brother or something?

But there was Hua saying her piece. See? She was pretty damn awesome. He didn't remember her ever being that bold when they'd first met, but her being so utterly cool about the whole thing left Mal with a slight smirk at last. The Kastleoki woman spoke next. This dude thought it came naturally to act like a maniac? Sheesh. And before you say 'Oh, this is all some misunderstanding,' maybe you should give it some thought. Do your packmates know that you think kidnapping people is 'natural'? he inquired, shifting tones to one that made a point of how ridiculous it was -- believing lizard people control the government was equally reasonable. He didn't leave room for an answer, continuing more normally, If those are the kind of people you want around, then I don't think it'd be a stretch to say we're all gonna butt heads again in the future. Do yourself a favor, find somewhere where neighbors are a lot farther away or at least like playing by the same rules you do. Seriously, go hang out by Nightwalkers and bicker among themselves forever, Mal wouldn't mind if they stayed super far away and kept themselves busy. Two birds one stone kind of thing.

Everyone had their own bit to say, the way his eyes glazed over the crowd except for a few didn't help with the bitter taste the dog-boy left on the Constable's tongue after their last meeting. Utter disrespect is all he saw from this guy. Hieronymous, too, had something to add to the growing list of reasons why they had come here today to tell them to fuck off, in the most polite way they could for the time being. He followed after the other oddly-colored male on their side spoke about kidnapping, well, that was one off of Hiero's own list. In addition to violence against multiple individuals, disregard for the safety of pregnant women and utter ignorance to pack borders, disruption of prey important for a pack's survival, offensive behavior especially to fellow leaders are to name a few of the reasons why you are not welcome near our homes.

He was certain there were more, but without them coming to light he could only accuse them of what he was told or heard by others. You claim to be confident, and yet, everything I have seen and heard of displays more so signs of an ill-bred congregation. You and your pack are a danger to the peace we uphold here and the wellbeing of the packs who have already solidified their claims. And thus, were better equipped to deal with individuals like these.

Whether you dispute these accusations or no, the claims are staggering against you and your kin. Even your own claims of having "savage histories" are proof enough for us to come with a collective decision among ourselves that you must move elsewhere, far away from here and any of our allies. With every word the painted man spoke, there was no hint of amusement, nearly a completely different man than what he used to displaying. He despised this mand and every word the half-breed spoke only solidified Hieronymous' dislike for his mere presence, shit, even the way he just stood there was aggravating with just how cocky he acted.

She had little to nothing to say to the brute she'd lost all hope for. Perhaps it was out of character for her to assume all hope was lost for him, but after hearing of his misdeeds, seeing his disrespect first-hand — it wasn't hard for her to think this. She looked to the band of wolves that had gathered, listened as they spoke words probably too intelligent for the brute to understand. Only in these situations would she condone cursing, if only to get the point across, not that anyone would catch her speaking unholy curses.

The trio of faeries stood tall and proud, but all kept their tongue, choosing instead for silence to be their weapon. No breath would be wasted on the man and his saints - Lumiya gave him a disapproving look, an unusual fire behind her wildflower eyes.

It wasn't long before she saw his hulking form moved out from the shadows of the forest, and her heart slammed against the sides of her chest. His appearance didn't exactly assure her that things would be peaceful, either. It made him look sloppy and savage, which was fine when hunting but not so much when addressing visitors at the borders. She wondered if this was the real Donovan. Now that he didn't have to keep up whatever game he had been playing with her, he felt free to show his real self? It made her stomach hurt again and she had to swallow against the feeling. She wanted to answer his question with a yes in that moment, her hurt at being lied to causing anger to swell up in her chest. But this was supposed to be peaceful; at the very least, she didn't want Mal or their allies to get hurt because she reacted impulsively to her anger.

She silently fumed while Huā spoke, answering his question better than she might have right then. She then laid out the reason they were there, and the Kaistleoki leader's words followed soon after. When Mal spoke, she shifted closer to him, her gaze still cold and fixed intently on Donovan. Mal did bring up a good question: did his pack members know of his past? He had kept it from her during all the time they had spent together, so had he also kept it from the wolves who shared his home to ensure that they stayed at his side? Or to Mal's other point: maybe they did know, and they were okay with it. Neither situation was good.

Once the other Kaistleoki leader had finished speaking, she studied Donovan's face. She wondered how he would respond to their demand that he leave? He did always seem fairly reasonable, but then, she couldn't be sure she knew anything real about him. She didn't think there was anything left to say now that the others had spoken, and she was honestly afraid she might make things worse; letting her emotions get the better of her would make her a pretty bad guardian. So she refrained from speaking for now, her gaze still glued to Donovan as she waited for his answer.

Please allow Derg post after me. (*´ω`*)

Donovan listens silently to each and every one of them as they speak. Holding eye contact with each one as they all continue scolding him like a fucking pup. His face is neutral, no expression to be found, blissfully cold and calculating. Vaguely, he hears something behind him, taking the moment to swivel his ears backwards. He doesn’t take his canary orbs off of the group in front of him. Little does he know, it’s a member of his own family. The ever so sweet and polite, @Derg.

Ultimately, he decides that he already made his decision when he walked out and saw the lot of them. Their words change nothing. They don’t know him, don’t care or bother to understand him. This makes them just as bad as he is. He is a saint to the ones he’s taken in, in the past and present. Given them a future and a purpose — direction. He treats his pack with respect and kindness just as they do their packs. His outlook and upbringing conditioned him into a different, more realist type of man. Not a fairy princess fuck with his head up in the clouds like the rest of them. The world is cruel, there is hardly any good and anything pleasant he’s ever had has been ripped away from him. The brindled male views life differently and if they are unwilling to give him a chance then so be it. He treats his allies like blood — would give his life up for one. They aren’t even worth the energy.

So, he stands tall looking to each and every one of them, mildly disappointed Simmik didn’t chime in on the scolding. When he speaks next, he doesn’t smirk or grin. There is no playfulness in his voice, only a calm sternness.

“I knew this would happen and the root of the cause is what I’ve done to Aphrodite, no? Then to your precious warrior. I couldn’t give a fuck about your opinions.” His tone is calm and collected even though the words speak viciousness. “I will tell you, and I’m sure it won’t mean shit to you, that I regret what I’ve done to that woman.” His eyes become intense, only a hint of sadness or possibly regret hiding in them for those who know where to look. “I take responsibility for my actions and I will deny nothing you’ve said. Just know I tried making amends. I fucking cried for her, cried with her. Begged for forgiveness and yet I know I will never get it. I don’t deserve it. My actions are inexcusable, for I was in a bad head space. With my previous pack slaughtered by humans, but I’m sure you’d see that as an excuse for me to reek havoc, no? Ignore the fact that I too had a family. You don’t place yourself in my position, you don’t even try to understand why. Surely it’s inexcusable to you though. Even then, I still admit and take responsibility for what I’ve done. It’s not enough though.” He shakes his head slowly. “As for your warrior,“ His eyes meet Huā’s own. “I do not regret that. It was a lesson much needed. I wished for them to take Aphrodite without a fight. Yet he attacked without thinking. A rash decision one must learn from. Whoever taught him to do something such as that has failed him. He will grow from it.”

Now he shrugs. “We will leave without a fight. I will not risk my pack — my family — for such personal reason as her vendetta against me because I taught her solider a lesson." With the sentence, he makes brief eye contact with Hua, before continuing on looking at the others. "There’s no problem defending your friends, but I suggest going about it the right way next time. Words work just as well as actions after all. Though perhaps she and her pack could learn to not poke their nose where it doesn’t belong and if you do, then do it correctly. Every pack here will continue to stay neutral to my pack and I, it matters not what you view me as — a neutral party or enemy, I don’t care. Except for you and your pack. I will not waste anymore words on you.” The last words are meant for Hua, he gazes upon her when he speaks them. The entire monologue his tone remains calm, only becoming stern occasionally. “We’re done here. We’ll be leaving within the next few days. Goodbye.”

Uncaring of what they say, Donovan will turn his back on them and disappear into the towering sequoias unless stopped.

Derg hadn't missed the howl.
A summoning howl.
He trotted through the woods to the source, mixed scents drifting to him on the air.
Shit.

Then, their forms were revealed. Too many for their small numbers to fight. And he could be that they all had some sort of fighting knowledge.
He dipped his head; submission.
His lips writhed back; anger and fear.
He brushed close up alongside Donovan, eyes trained on them all. Their angry voices like a viper's tongue lashing out at them. His head dipped under Donovan's, pressing the back of his neck to the man's jugular; shielding him. A sacrificial position.
He would sacrifice himself for the dark man, even if it was at the hands of strangers.

He'd nothing else expect what Donovan had given him.

He didn't care what he'd done, Derg had done just as bad - or worse. And he spoke with his own venom against these packs. They wouldn't stand a chance. And Donovan was wise enough to say as much, and hopefully these strangers would be liberal enough to allow it.

But Donovan wasn't going to wait to find out, it seemed. He turned to leave them simmering, but Derg didn't fancy turning his back. He lowered his head as Donovan parted from him, and started to take a few steps back. He would not turn his back on then, no matter what Donovan though of them.

Ugh. When Reiko had sent her off on this mission and Saarthal had, for some absurd reason still entirely unknown to herself, agreed, she had not imagined actually being, well, this late to the party. Actually late enough that by the time she had caught up, emerging into view, one of the gathered wolves - presumably the leader of the pack they wanted to chase out - had turned to leave and his companion along with him. Well, fuck.

It was probably also her responsibility to explain herself to the band of wolves gathered - but could she really be bothered to do it? Glancing quickly at the wolves present, she deduced that she knew approximately...none of them and that there was a really pretty girl with bi-coloured eyes and stop - "Sorry I'm late to the party," Saarthal said, lowering her crown in an apologetic bow.  "Reiko sent me. She didn't want to miss out." Lips quirked lightly, a shadow of her impish smile.

I’m sure it won’t mean shit to you, that I regret what I’ve done to that woman.

Yep, he was right. It didn't mean shit to her. Who gave a fuck about his regrets? And last she had heard from Aiolos, the girl had fled as soon as she could (leaving behind the red warrior to struggle in the fight on the beach, but nevermind that). It was simple, natural, and yet enough to show that kidnapping was an unforgivable crime. Tears and sorrys would heal nothing. And what a field day Huā would've had here, tearing him apart if she knew about the rape- but instead she listened, gaze aglow with something humourous as he went on his self-pity monologue. Some of the gentler companions with her might've scoffed at her evil thoughts, but somehow Huā was comforted by the fact that he had lost everything before- karma, she supposed. He called it a bad headspace as a result of death around him, but somehow she figured he had always been like this: a frothing half breed beast with little regard for life.

Yeah... that do not mean shit to me, you right. You think all us, She laughed, gesturing to her fellow leaders, You think we not lose anything? You think we all have family? I lose my family, made into slave, when I escape, I make my own pack to fight against people like the one who wrong me. Not kidnap some poor girl. And in this moment, Donovan reminded her of them- the older men who would come to the caves seeking young girls like Huā. She paused, steadied her thoughts, her shaking heart. Scoffed at the man's words of teaching Aiolos a lesson. Of course he attack you, you fucking kid-napper! You think you get peace after holding hostage? She snorted. Did this guy think they'd just take the woman back and let Donovan go free? Scum like him needed to be wiped from the face of the earth; Huā was glad Aiolos had made an attempt at least.

At the words that he would leave, she breathed a sigh of relief, audible.

At his final words, she grinned, satisfied with the prospect that he might leave. Good, I not want hear any more of your excuse. Poking my nose where it do not belong? Funny... maybe next time you also, will learn not to be violent idiot. It very unwise to make enemy with large pack with great allies, you know. She murmured, and though she spoke of Yuèlóng specifically at this time, such a phrase could describe any one of them, now or in the future. They had come to her aid now, and she and her warriors would likely come to their aid in return- and Donovan was truly a fool, if he thought his army could ever take on three, four, five packs- no matter how 'savage' they were.

When he turned tail, Huā cooed, Bye bye, Donovan. The quiet wolf that had wrapped itself around him at some point still lingered, and Huā spat, Fuck off. Assuming the stranger would scurry back into the forest, Huā turned to her wolves, victorious smile fading into something serious. And the girl who smelled of the Empire- late, but nevermind it. Just the fact that she had made the journey meant much. There was still something to be said here- Huā was unsure that the hurdles were truly over. Even if Donovan followed his word and moved, there was no guarantee the other packs, the further ones, would be safe. And so Huā awaited their words, knowing that in some ways she was in their debt, and obliged to help with whatever future issues might arise.

Also Asori and I are just gonna trade post order again.

How could someone who thought so highly of himself be so self-pitying? Like wow, didn't he realize he sounded like a loser? Probably not, he thought he was a god or something, he'd been over this... Hua though, was a whole different spitfire. On the one hand, damn. On the other, oh god please don't turn that on him ever, okay? Also um, had she mentioned the slave thing before? This wasn't exactly the place to ask and he also wasn't the most nosy of wolves anyway.

And some other dude had popped outta nowhere and was like.. coiling around the striped blowhard or something. Hell, Mal wasn't sure what he was actually trying to do -- it seemed pretty out of nowhere. What a weird dude. Hopefully he just followed Donovan back into whatever abyss they crawled out of with Hua's words hot on their heels.

But still, they did leave, didn't they? About the time someone else joined the good guys' side. Mal had a remark to make about the ex-residents of the forest first. Um. Was it just me or was that the like.. most hollow nonapology ever with a side of how he was the victim or something? Should we actually believe he's gonna go? Because that didn't seem too based in reality... Maybe Mal was just an untrusting weirdo, but he wasn't big on giving unpredictable people a chance, and that guy definitely seemed unpredictable, if only because of his warped sense of facts. If most of the other packs represented here had a pretty united view of what had happened, Mal was much more keen to believe them. He looked between them all, pausing the most on Simmik to see how she was holding up.

I had something really witty for this post but I forgot it before I had the chance to write it :'^) oh well

The conversation took a turn to some woman, Aphrodite it seems, someone she had not heard of, but there was enough laid out for Ira to pick up what might have happened. The man fed his excuses intent on defending his own, no matter how dark and twisted they may be. To some, it might be honorable, but Donovan would have to learn pretty words would not make up for his deeds. If he truly wants a safe place for his pack then it would be best to stop stirring trouble everywhere he traveled. At the very least, he agreed to leave but not without declaring Yuelong as an enemy.

It was Hua that surprised her. She was quick to lash, anger lacing each word she spat in the man's direction as he turned to leave. She had every reason to be mad, but based on previous conversations she did not seem to be one so prickly. Perhaps it was a good thing they had ended up on the same side... Golden eyes shifted to Mal as he spoke up, To him he is the victim.

Ah yes, she had seen it plenty of times before. Those who felt they were wronged from your mere existence or those who become offended when you fight back. We can only hope he truly leaves, but we must not allow him to spread roots should he defy our demands. We should check back within the week and if he has not left, push him out with force. Knowing more, the Count would never let him settle near her pack. The Empire would have to be careful too, thankfully one of their members had made it to the meeting even if she was late. Her face was unfamiliar, but Ira recognized the scent.

Disgusted; and Hieronymous was making no effort to hide that disdain he felt toward this man and it only grew the more he spoke! How big were his balls to victimize himself now of all times, in the face of all his crimes and instead of accepting it with grace, he points the blame elsewhere and tries, fails, to paint himself as some kind of martyr in the name of his pack. It was pathetic really.

The newer face who joined them had apologized for being late, honestly, it was a good distraction. Hieronymous turned to greet her with a smile, more than happy to tune out the doggo who was singing his sad song for himself and his people. Hua was the first to speak up against the man's self-pity party - and honestly, all the Constable could feel was this was a waste of her breath. Types like these didn't listen, didn't care, nothing she said would ever stick to a guy like this and it was all just smoke in the wind.

While everyone said their own bit, Hiero had to chime in one more time. We need to search neighboring lands as well to make sure they don't settle somewhere else still nearby. Just because they left the woods here, it didn't mean they wouldn't just move still close enough to the homes of any of the packs who made it here today.

He offered them a similar version of what he had given her when she questioned him about the whole kidnapping situation. And now, like then, she wanted to believe him, but it was difficult to really justify such an action.  Huā was right: they all had lost something, and none of them, at least the ones she knew, had ever done anything like that. Her dad had died right in front of her, but she didn't go out and kidnap someone, no matter how messed up she was over it. She had been a child then, but even now, nothing would make her act in such a way. She didn't bother trying to keep the disbelief and dismay from her expression; she was furious with him for lying and disappointed in his actions.

She was relieved that he agreed to leave. After how tense things were right now, she half expected some kind of retaliation, but he seemed reasonable enough not to risk whatever members of his pack he had managed to accumulate. Although, it seemed he couldn't help but poke the bear as he stated his departure, which made her roll her eyes. He acted as if this was all  Huā 's fault when he and his pack clearly held all the blame. But, she supposed she wasn't all that surprised by his reaction.

An unfamiliar man appeared then, not saying anything but it was clear his allegiance was with Donovan.

When they were alone again, the others began talking, but she didn't really have much to say. She was ready to go home and put this all behind her. She felt Mal's gaze on her, and she offered him a stiff smile to try and assure him she was okay, which was a lie but she didn't want him to worry, and she definitely didn't want to think too much into things here.

She nodded at the suggestion made by the man from Kaistleokie. That was probably a good idea. They couldn't know where the Saints would go now, and it was good to check around to make sure it wasn't somewhere equally close.

sorry for the hold up

woo, and, wrapping! thanks everyone for this very quickly thrown together plot, was super fun!!!<3

Huā agreed with Mal- He's ah, um, 自恋者, um, man who thinks he is the best. A fool. She summarized bluntly with a sigh. Was he beefy? Yeah. Smart? That was to be seen, depending on how far they moved- which would end up disappointing her. Anyway, this group hadn't exactly proved their intelligence so far, considering they made enemies with every pack they came in contact with. In Huā's opinion, the man's personal pity party response to the list of his crimes was disappointing, but not especially surprising.

The empress agreed with the general consensus that they had to keep their eye on things- I will check back, to make sure they leave. As for anyone else... let the other know if you find these people close to you again. Or, just tell me, and I will tell the other. She offered politely with a dip of her head to the gathered group. She was not sure that all of these packs even knew eachother- but she knew them all now, and was quick on her feet with message delivery. It did inspire a spark of hope in her, though, to see them so quickly united- and she marvelled at the idea of a grand alliance of some sort in the future, something to keep the lands safe for them all.

But slow down, Huāzhēn Jiāng. One thing at a time.

Thank you all, so much. I am in the debt of each of you. If you need something, always I am just on island, and you tell me if you need help. I can not find all the word to express my thank-fulness. And she bowed a low bow to them as if she were a child before the emperor back home, before lifting herself again.

Soon enough each wolf would say their goodbyes, and head home as safely as they could- but perhaps this was only the beginning.
