Anyone wanting to intercept Ibis? Heat thread 5/5.
Estrus: 5-13 days long (receptive in final 5; high fertility).

She had spent plenty of time away from home by now, and it was time to head home. She was tired; it was the kind of full-body tired you get after going to the gym a few times in a week after a dry spell, and even for someone as active as Ibis, it was a lot. She felt fulfilled though. The urge to find a warm body and jump it had subsided somewhat. It was a nice way to pass the time and she was happy to have discovered it.

Now, though, with her cycle nearly finished, Ibis felt a desire to be home again. To see the Emberwood covered in resplendent reds, or the marsh beyond that - thinking of the days before the famine hit and everything was one big adventure. She knew she couldn't go back to either of those places without suffering stronger heartache than what she felt now, so she swallowed those feelings and focused on what she did have: Reiko, and the Empire.

It would take her a few days of hard travel to reach the mountains, and a few more to cross them in to the valley. So she would bask in the spring sun as long as she could, and enjoy what time she had on her way back home. Right now, Ibis was touring a dark forest that wasn't too remarkable to her. The air felt heavy, almost too humid for the season, and filled with a metallic taste she did not yet recognize as sea salt. As she emerged from a gap in the trees she could see down in to the lowlands where the hills rolled, blocked-out by irregular shapes she presumed to be a roaming herd of deer. It was beautiful - but it was lonely.

The wayward youth found himself unsettled as he sought the crimson forest his parents had once spoke of as home. It was the creek that truly beckoned him, if only for nostalgic purposes, but aside from a spare few good memories, nothing remained there for him.

Akavir was not one to linger on the past, especially when he had learned from both Constantine and Durnehviir that true resilience was moving forward.

What was presumed as the warmth of the spring day that spurned an itch along his spine, the swarthy wolf trailed at a casual gait, finding himself curious to what had drawn his parents here initially--and thankful that they had sought to lay claim to the creek afterward.

The lingering scent of another caught his attention, and with great pause, the burning gaze of the young male fell upon the pale tawny of a rather diminutive female. He watched her with faint interest, remaining rooted to the spot, uncertain if his presence would spook her.

The week of casual encounters may have left her tired, but she was no less alert to her surroundings. A part of her still yearned for that physical connection, and likely always would. Ibis had always been a tactile individual - it was one aspect that had made her such a dedicated scout; now, that same tenacity was sculpting her in to an eager lover - and mightily impatient. When she caught the scent of someone foreign among the trees she did a double-take, as the pine scent was almost strong enough to hide it; she could not immediately see where the wolf was hiding but she knew someone was out there, and while a part of her wished it was her friend Lenny (merely because they were familiar) she was just as intrigued to meet another stranger. Her hormones were still out of whack - but Ibis was still Ibis, and if nothing else, this adventure through the valley had awakened her dormant sense of wonder.

With careful steps she investigated the area. She hoped to be quick, to placate the lingering lust so that she could travel back home without further delays, but the stranger was lost among the shadows of the wood and Ibis was immediately perplexed. It took her longer than she anticipated to track down a physical trail, and as she did so she was startled by a pair of bright eyes watching her from among the ferns. How long had they been there? Had they been watching her that whole time...?

Warmth flooded her face; she felt immediately embarrassed, which was a good sign of her faculties returning as her season diminished, but it did not last. She watches the stranger shyly at first, but boldly prances closer, sniffing at the air and showing very little caution the longer she is in their presence. Her posture is welcoming - but she is careful, for once.

Hello, Ibis calls to them - smiling thinly. Where did you come from? They don't look like anyone she's met before, not that she can make out much from where they've sequestered themselves, and so she backs off a few paces to let them have some breathing room.

There was something distinctly alluring about the she-wolf. Akavir was still inexperienced when it came to the details of the season, only knowing he usually gave wide berth to not just the women within his life but also the more territorial men.

It didn’t occur to him that he was drawn to her with the feral need to explore further what she could offer—instead, Akavir found himself enchanted by the delicate-boned dove, her eyes bright and sharp and her movement bold.

She was the prettiest thing he had ever saw, and he found his tongue felt like cardboard as she closed the distance between them.

Swallowing, a nervous flutter pulled at him despite his attempt to appear nonchalant. A shift of his weight, the stocky wolf pulled forward, leaving the shadows behind and embracing her full gaze as his champagne eyes stole over her. “Hey,” he rumbled, clearing his throat as his tail gave a gentle sway through the air, hoping he didn’t look too sheepish. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to… uh.. stare,” he began lamely, cursing inwardly as he fumbled with his words. “I just didn’t want to pop out of nowhere and scare you.”

At her question, Akavir allowed a lopsided grin to pull at his features, shrugging his silver-bladed shoulders. "Nowhere, really. Just wandering." He paused only for a moment, wondering in the back of his mind how dumb she must have thought him to be. "I'm Akavir."

His voice was low and masculine, but soft too, and he fumbled like Fionn - apologizing first and complimenting her in a way, which made her smile. Ibis watched his little shrug, noting how the light caught upon his fur and how lustrous it looked, which to the more animal side of her brain was a sign of good health. He looked rugged - and smelled of nothing, although the forest was quite strong around them - and so she presumed he was alone. He was not so different from the other strangers she had encountered; except that he was more vocal, and Ibis found the sound of his voice soothing.

When he introduced himself she tucked his name away for safekeeping. It was unique. She liked the way it rolled off his tongue; it sounded so foreign to her, and for a moment she was all wrapped up in the novelty of it, but eventually composed herself enough to offer her own name: Ibis. With it came a small dip of her head, a wag of her tail. It was nice to have company again.

After a pause, she drew back a step or two and motioned for him to come out from his hiding place; she wanted a better look at him, foremost. While she waited for him Ibis looked around at the forest. The grove was quiet - the birds probably silencing themselves in their presence for the time being. She breathed in deeply and took a reaching step, half-bowing so she could stretch out her sore leg muscles in a cat-like manner, and then shook her scruff as she adjusted back to a proper standing pose - glancing his way.

You don't seem scary, she offered, and watched him with a touch of mischief in her gaze.

Enraptured was a word that only now seemed appropriate in Akavir’s vocabulary, especially as champagne eyes roved over the fluid movement of the graceful woman. She stretched, cat-like in demeanor, and he found it hard to swallow in that very moment.

Love, at first sight, was something he did believe in—hadn’t that been the story of his own parents? But he had never expected to feel it, nor had he ever considered it running him over like a freight train.

His brain might have chalked it up to youth and inexperience—but that wasn’t necessarily what he was thinking with at the moment.

“Ibis,” he repeated, a lofty grin floating to his muzzle as he tilted his muzzle to the side, finally finding the more cheeky, casual side of his blossoming charisma. She commented that he didn’t seem scary, and his grin widened—was she flirting with him, too?

Had a girl ever flirted with him before?

Nope. No, definitely not. This was new territory. He steeled himself—desperately praying to whatever Moon Goddess above he didn’t botch this up with the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

“I can try to seem whatever you want me to seem like.”

What. The. Fuck. Just came out of his mouth? Was that even English?

The words that fell from his lips were - well - confusing. She tried to parse a meaning from among them, and ended up losing her composure; laughter flooding from her belly, warm, elastic. It wasn't a mocking laugh. Something breathy that took her by surprise as soon as it began, and it was over quickly. The young woman pirouetted to face him as she felt a lightness blooming in her skin, and slunk towards him anew.

Ibis appeared to study his face for a moment. The youth of his eyes; the prickly nature of his coat; the contours of his face. Then, she reached out and softly pecked his cheek, as if to pluck some errant hair away. That was cute, but I have no idea what you just said. She drawled bluntly, but with affection in her tone, and then pulled away from him at a dash, her tail waving behind her. She was inviting him to romp around with her, of course - if he could take the hint.

Her laugh was as beautiful as she was, and the swarthy wolf found himself pleased that he had drawn such a reaction from her—if not humbled by his clear lack of game.

She moved toward him, rendering him silent as he studied her. Graceful curves and an impish smile—she was the definition of alluring, and the closer she came to him, the more tongue-tied he felt. She closed the distance between them—the gentle sway of his tail stilling before she gave him a kiss to the cheek, causing his jaw to part slightly in surprise.

“Me either,” he whispered, moving forward as she moved back, instantly missing the brief connection. With a sway and a spirited dash, the forest nymph beckoned him to play and he was quick to give chase, every fiber of his being humming with vigorous energy—and the scent that so cloyingly pulled him to try to catch her.

He reacted as she wished, bounding after her as she tried to flee. As agile as Ibis could be, this man was able to use his greater size to an advantage and swiftly overtook her position, so she had to be crafty. She veered one way and another, scrambled over obstacles with ease - hoping he would struggle just a little in pursuit - and in the end, emerged within a field of tall reeds and tiny buds. The trees arced like a crescent around the space and left a gap in the canopy through which light shafts glimmered. She ducked through these, realizing that she was out of breath and there was nowhere else to run to.

Best to act like this was on purpose, she thought. Soon Ibis was rounding back to where Akavir lurked, a light peal of laughter filling the air as she bat her eyes at him. Oh, looks like you caught me, an emphatic little pout, and she's smiling again, closing the distance and going after what she really wants: physical contact. She brushed against his sides, up one and then around and down the other, like a cat, and murmured after: Do you want to play another game?

Akavir could be spry—though his brother, @Akatosh, could beat him hands down in any race. Stocky, much like his father, there was still speed to his pace… but he wasn’t in any rush to capture the she-wolf as she bounded before him. Instead, champagne eyes roved over her, taking in the graceful curves of her body. Of course, he held no doubt she could still run circles around him.

He didn’t think he’d mind, much.

He caught her in a field—the view beautiful, but not something that interested him when his sole focus was her. The brush of her fur against his elicited a rumble from the male’s throat, his eyes darkening toward her as a roguish grin pressed to the corner of his lips. She was bold, and so he chose to be the same—his broad muzzle tipping down to preen at the fur along her nape, hoping to gain some ‘cool’ points from his previous screw-ups. “What did you have in mind?”

Sorry for any mistakes, I am writing this at work so I zoomed the window out as far as possible as a precaution.

He teased at her fur and each touch introduced more warmth and want within her, and with a soft humming growl she tried to incite further affection; pressing against his side softly, weaving at his throat as if her scent could snare him, Ibis wanted him to take control and do what all the others had - however, something was blocking him. Whether it was age, personality, or simply a sense of withdrawal from nervousness, she hoped he would catch on to what she wanted. The game was simple: he had caught her, and now all Ibis wanted was to enjoy the adoration of the boy in whatever form that took. But she had desires, many which had been awakened because of her season, and while that was petering out to a natural end she could only think of one thing.

She turned around abruptly before him, stretching as if it were some kind of dance or lazy flaunting of her body. She felt his eyes on her, but that wasn't enough. Again she canted her head to one side by her shoulder and murmured, Do I need to spell it out for you? Her tail wagged, and even before he could respond she was arching her back and leaning her hip in to him, wishing the magic which had possessed the other men could affect him now - but perhaps it wasn't strong enough. Was she not desirable anymore? How sharp that thought struck her, and how deeply it stung.

The birds and the bees had been a horrifying conversation he had with an elder of his parents pack—even blocked out, no doubt, but it was also the furthest thing from his mind as Ibis prowled before him, flaunting, cat-like in her grace and beautiful in the light that reflected from her fur. Fatherhood wasn’t necessarily on his radar, nor were any repercussions except for taking the reins of the moment and simply enjoying the right now.

His eyes followed her, the tightening in his abdomen and chest a sure sign of his attraction to her. Akavir had flirted briefly with girls—never anything serious—and so now that she only seemed to encourage his ministrations rather than laugh and run away, he felt emboldened bit by bit.

His reach was tentative. Only as he trailed kisses along the length of her spine and she did not flee did his touch grow firmer. His exploration of her was perhaps the fire that truly drove him further. She was warm—she smelled good. She was beautiful.

Minutes past, his muzzle caressing as he embraced her. Only when he reached the back of her haunches did he give pause, his nips growing harsher as he nudged her, demanding of her and yet waiting for something—permission… leniency. To see if what he was doing was okay.

Mature Content Warning

She hadn't needed to guide anyone before. It felt liberating too, in a way. As if she had more control than the wild men she'd invited to lay with her - and maybe now that was true, because the hormonal pull was lesser now. She had a clearer head, though not entirely. Ibis still sought intimacy and with some urging, managed to make the boy rise to the occasion. Yes, this was different than her first time with the imperious giant, or even with Mal after that, but she was open to it; this entire adventure had been about exploration of herself, her body, and finding what felt right.

As he reared up, she felt him land upon the small of her back and braced. Yes, it felt right. He grabbed at her scruff, he nipped and positioned but he was teasing her too, which incised her passion for him. She tried to give him a look to tell him it was okay, that this was good, that she wanted this - but was impatient. So instead Ibis moved carefully against him, crooning a soft note of desire to him.

Fade to blaaaack.

Fade to black! Archive?

The soft croon was consent enough—feral wilderness instilling instinct as Akavir experienced the entirety of a woman for the first time. Love, at first sight, was something his parents claimed, but the boy would never be able to shake the terrible fights they would have when Swiftcurrent Creek was their home. Talos running away—another, strange white wolf stealing his father’s attention and spurning his mother's jealousy.

Love, at first sight, was a foolish prospect… but he sure as hell was definitely in-like with this girl at first sight.

And he wanted to prove that again and again.
