Firefly Glen [PHE] The Elk Bellows Group One

There are five wolves per group. I can move around if I must, but I hope these groups work. That being said you should be able to roll for 1 or 2 Elk. Five wolves could probably take down 2 if they work well together. There is an adult and a youngster to be the lead two. I don't know if you want to have threads prior to this backdated or not. I hope you all have fun and enjoy. This will be Rodyn's first and only post in this thread.

The early morning stretched and the sun rose. He thought of the moment he shared with Callyope and there was a strange feeling there. He could not think on it at the moment. But he had meant what he said.

His nose lifted and he called @Lotus of Sun Mote, a small smile at the thought of Towhee. He hoped she was doing well with her newest little one. And the wolf of Moontide @Chakliux would help the girl to lead the hunt.

Their party would be comprised of @Salaksartok, @Reyna and Reyson. He hoped these numbers managed to see fit to help feed the mouths of many.

his hunting-partner today would be from a pack not yet visited by the seal hunter. yet he knew enough to understand that the copse was friend to moontide, allied strongly with rodyn. "i greet you," chakliux said brightly.
nodding toward the others, his eyes lingering in appreciative shine upon the sculpted form of the woman from la muerte, he glanced back to lotus. "have you hunted before? are you familiar with how these creatures are killed?"
his friendliness was for all the group, however, as they traipsed into the forest to find the deer trails.

Reyson heard his daughters name to be called for a leader in the hunt. And fire lit up his insides in a sure pride. He couldn't quite hide the small smile that lit up his face. And the wolf helping seemed a descent sort he hoped.

He offered his daughter a nudge and a soft whisper. You'll do great, Lotus.

Then he waited for instructions.

she is paired with ruffians. her husband would've been much more preferred for this hunt, but the queen stood back as she let the rest speak amongst themselves. no, she didn't know how to slay these beasts nor did she care to know.

chin held high, the queen gathers what she presumes would be needed for the hunt — a dagger to skin the beast, perhaps a bowl to save some of its blood for her fledglings. the pale wraith is in her own head, gathering supplies as she resigned herself to menial work.

Partaking in the hunt was a great honor—and her excitement in the upcoming days was palpable. It took a moment when she was called to a group for understanding to dawn on her the responsibility placed upon her —and bright eyes would flicker with horror as she was ushered forward more by her father, who whispered encouragement to her. “Is he crazy?” She whisper-hissed to her father, eyes still wide, her paws suddenly feeling like lead.

‘Dey be so big, dey can gobble a little pebble like you whole.’ The words of the ocean girl echoed in her mind just now, and she felt her throat go dry.

A pale man greeted her—questioned her—and she found her words missing for a moment as she took in his scars. Did he get those from the elk?

Trying to steel herself, she inhaled slowly—chin lifting up, trying to cast the man a smile that did not waver too much. “Not anything this large,” she admitted, hoping he took that as her confession that she would need all the guidance he offered.

a great man with many scars spoke to the girl. supposing him to be the young one's father, the seal hunter nodded pleasantly to @Reyson. "i am chakliux of village moontide. that way," rightmost, "i have built an elk run with a moonglow hunter. two walls of brush and mud rise just after this woodland. the herd is there, beyond those red oak trees. they have sharp hooves and the male of the herd has been given antlers. all can kill. keep back. when they see us, they will run."
he stood apart from them now, some steps ahead. "we will race them through the trees to the run, which ends at a stream. it is deep enough to slow them, but not stop them. two of you," to reyson, to @Reyna, "will go around the run and wait for them in the water. you," motioning to salaksartok, "will follow lotus and myself. some deer will not enter the run. let them go," chakliux insisted. "trapping them will cause a panic. they will fight. you," to @Lotus, "you will fall back toward the water then, with her," the tale pale woman. "and your father will move to help me in the front." it was many moving parts, but he had seen caribou hunted just this way. it was dangerous, but if the yearling moved swiftly, she might avoid being bloodied.
he paused then, to see if questions might be had.

Reyson saw no reason with this plan to object to it. It made sense to him. he bent his head to his daughter and smiled at her. Blue eyes taking in ehr face.

I'll be right here Lotus, but remember youa re born from fighters. So you can do this.

Reyson shifted and nodded his head to the man Chakliux and stepped into position. He was worried for his daughter, but she had to learn. He just hoped it did not come at a cost. He readied himself to do what he must to take the beast down and too protect his daughter if he had too from hooves and horns
