Whether or not Meadow sanctioned it, Towhee began to push upright into a sit. The twinging pulled a little gasp from her, though now the pain was beginning to lose its edge. It still throbbed, in an almost familiar way, but the cleansing had calmed the worst of the burning and stinging.
