All Welcome
The woman had made it past the pack; with her life intact. Now, back to her hunting.
She put her nose to the ground and started to shovel snow from her path, hoping some scent was still held there. No, there was no scent, but there were tracks. There were tracks moving west -- not her quarry -- but there were smaller tracks heading East. That was what she wanted. The snows had come before she started on the mountain, she couldn't be too far behind.

She listened intently, what could she find here?
Rabbits: they would be under the snow and white. Hard to catch.
She'd seen foxes hunt, they dive under the snow. And great owls used their power to punch under the snow. Now, she would adopt that to hunt for herself now.

Stealth. She silently passed over the ground and cocked her to listen. She had not the great ears of ones designed to hunt from under the snow with sound, but she had the cunning. Listening, silence.
There was a squeak, a rustle, and the sound of movement under the snow. She stopped, poised to launch head-first. Another rustle told the huntress that her quarry was close. Closer it got.
She reared up and forced her way down into the snow, paws first, and caught a lemming under her paws. Forcing her head down, she caught the small body in her jaws and crunched. She brought her head up and threw her head back, eating the success quickly.

Casting a wary gaze about, she wondered if anyone else knew how to hunt like that; and realised she wouldn't mind teaching the method to a competent student.

He is beginning to regain some semblance of strength, both physical and mental. He is not the sturdy gilded oak of the past, but perhaps, with time, he will get there. For now, he focuses on building himself up again, brick by brick upon a castle ruin. He will learn and grow, learn and grow. And with the knowledge that Ceara is safe, he further heals.

The smell of her dashes these hopes away, like sun through mist. His lips curl upward immediately, his eyes blazing cold fire. Her. The hostage-taker, the Blackfeather bitch.

He cannot act alone. He retreats into the shelter of a nearby rock formation, the shadows falling across his pelt, and he watches her for several long moments. He cannot act alone. His body will not take it, and Hydra will be furious with him. As much as his blood boils and his body aches to take her down, he must hold himself in check.

Instead, Llewellyn thrusts up his head and calls for @Hydra, for @Revui and @Arcturus, and all else who wish to shed wicked blood this day.

The call rang clear as day. Hydra was quick to answer, her own voice joining his own as it faded. She would not be able to arrive in short time, and he would know this from the distance her call rang from. Hydra thought of seeking @Alya and @Lyra, though knew that they would join should they feel a need. They were always appraised of any and all events, and more often than not they were alongside her for them.

But for the moment, Hydra moved alone, her other senses seeking her brothers who had also been summoned. They were young, but old enough to learn and see for themselves what happened to wolves that threatened their way of life. Hydra did not want their sort anywhere near Moonspear, not after they had taken a wolf from the Redhawks. Not knowing their unsavory reputation. And especially now that she had some reason to believe they might harbor resentment against Moonspear for Llewelyn's trespass.

Even if he was an independent agent that day, Hydra would defend him. The Blackfeather wolves had Screech, after all. If she had to kill every man, woman, and child to feel him between her teeth, she would.

Her determined pace lent her speed, and she knew the surrounding territories well by now. Though her arrival would not be immediate, it would be soon, and Hydra's eyes sought her enemy.

She's on her way! Y'all can skip her for a round as she heads there to account for time.

sames! He’s on his way. Gonna arrive next post

the mooncub was prowling through a tangle of deadfall when the howl came; it cut through the cold air as crisp as the wind that carried it, and arcturus ceased his scouring. pulling from the ruined thicket, the boy cast an ear to the wind again to detect any returning call.

throughout the hyperborean air the rejoining call of his sister returned; he smiled to hear the fullthroated cry of his tribe. tipping his own head back, arcturus lent his sonorous howl to the world; it carried a new deep timber, yet another sign that the boy was growing.

he would come across hydra soon — wasting no time, arcturus moved across the wintry landscape at a steady but assured canter.

As was his custom, Revui kept a close eye on his family — which had grown to include the wolves that didn't hold his blood in their veins, although his attention to those particular wolves was minimal. He was trying to be a better guardian. Yet the silver serpent was, at the moment, keeping an eye on his brother Arcturus. When the howl rose up, he didn't react — instead he was watching as his shadow of a brother reacted, and when the other boy took off in the direction of the commanding tone he did too; so they would arrive one after the other, but with Revui giving Arcturus a wide berth even so. If there was a good reason for blood to be shed then Revui would not miss it, he would have his brother's back and prevent harm from befalling any of his kin.

I don’t mind injuries that won’t impeade her movement too much back to Blackfeather so no limb loss (ear and tail tip is acceptable) also nothing death worthy <3

She heard the brewing hellfire before she smelt that wolf. She would never forget his scent.
And he was baying for her blood.

Swiftly, she started off, carrying herself over the snow and avoiding the softer places where she would sink. She wouldn’t look back, because to look back would mean death; and Flicker Vaidya was not about to die, not today.

The frozen air filled her lungs like glacial water, the icey coating of the snow bit into her pads like bee stings. The ground was rough, but if she could just get somewhere where the snow wasn’t so collected, she could leave them trailing.

She’d gone close to the pack, sure, but she took every precaution to very respectful and to stay hidden — she also moved quickly. Like a spy.
Shit. Her paw hit a softer pile of snow and sunk, causing her body to tumble down for a moment. Although she was up in half a second, was she quick enough?

He will not strike immediately; to do so would be folly. He instead trots slowly the direction she runs, waiting for the others to join him. Hydra returns his call, as does a young voice--either Arcturus or Revui, he presumes. They have been largely silent in his time here, so he does not recognize the tone. They are coming.

Llewellyn breaks into the easiest of lopes, watching the Blackfeather woman stumble and fall over the ground. She does not know this place as well as they do: they have the advantage. Still, he cannot get cocky.

He throws a quick glance over his shoulder, searching for his war party.

charon will not arrive until after Hydra, Arcturus and Revui have arrived.

Following the howl Charon followed, making his way down the mountain. He had been patrolling and a flash of Hydra made her way towards Llewellyn's howl. It was good to see her so eager to defend a pack mate in need. Revui and Arcturus were not far behind and Charon followed suit; he did not run, like they, but followed in a more relaxed trot. He intended to arrive just as they had gotten this culprit, so that he could see if he was needed in fighting them off or grabbing them, or if any questioning was needed. Maybe there were clues leading down to Yami's whereabouts or other unrests in the area, and if so, he wanted to know about this. First hand, for a change.

Though it took her some time to arrive, eventually, she did. Hydra spotted the golden Llewelyn first, but her eyes were just as quick in finding the stranger attempting to make their escape. What were they running from? And why did they move in such a manner? Well, she supposed she knew, but the point was moot—she had been found. No use sneaking any longer.

Hydra's heart found its way to her throat as her gaze sought her subordinate, seeking any injury to his person, then beyond him... seeking evidence that this woman had harmed anything nearby to cause for concern. She was not yet near enough to draw from her the packscent the golden once-prince had recognized.

They stumbled, and Hydra, ever the hunter, saw her opportunity. Her pace quickened and a low snarl ekked forth from parted lips and bared teeth as she came before the woman, moving to further unbalance her and keep her down as she moved alongside her, then past her as she ascended, to attempt to hip check the stranger and compromise their balance before they found the opportunity to rise.

it seemed the entire of moonspear moved, shaken into action by the unwanted presence of an enemy. arcturus slowed from his wild gallop to a more coordinated trot as he saw hydra's form ahead, moving like some unloosed sentinel towards an unknown she-wolf that had collapsed in some unseen snowfall.

the boy did not charge: while his blood was pumping and his volatile energy high, he had seen the moderated approach of his father and mirrored it. seeing revui and llewellyn both, arcturus' expression sets into one of determination -- snaking his head forwards, the dark youth circled in the hunchbacked manner of a prowling hyena.

When his sister Hydra saw the opportunity to move in, Revui was a few moments behind her. He was slow to react while she was quick, experienced and practiced in her abilities while the boy was merely lusting after that same prowess. He caught up to Arcturus' position as he went, passing him by, sweeping close to Lewellyn on his approach, and then found the path that Hydra's racing body made through the snow, and that made it easier for his own gargantuan shape to cleave its way closer. His gaze traced the surroundings for signs of a threat but he did not see the target yet, only Hydra against the backdrop of snow, and pursued her — eager for the command to attack, and ready to direct his innate aggression wherever she demanded.

There was one upon her already, snarling and nipping. The fire-graved woman rose up with jaws wide and clashed them together again next to her attacker; missing. Her back legs were pushing up, forcing her forward but she was quickly downed again. Releasing a snarl of her own, she had no choice but to settle into a brawl.

Turning her ivories again on the dark shape, she sought to attach to anything, a leg, a shoulder; hell even a tail would do. But the sound of another, larger than the first, was fast approaching. The golden man? She released a guttural snarl, attempting to ward off her attackers.

He is joined at last by his packmates, and with a sigh of relief, he surges forward, racing after Hydra, who is first into the fray. The dark woman has taken advantage of the Blackfeather's stumble, and he joins her in this objective, galloping 'round to the other side. With this, he hopes to corral the woman, with Revui and Arcturus to seal all other gaps. Let her try and escape, now.

Why have you come here? Llewellyn snarls, eyes shooting daggers at the rogue. He looks at Hydra, face contorted in fury. This is a Blackfeather wolf. She chased me, and did me harm, when I went to rescue Ceara. She is complicit in their treachery.

At this point, he does not know what he wants. Ceara is safe, and life is back to normal, for the most part. But this? This just seems an affront, her coming so close to his home. There must be a reason; Blackfeather Woods and Moonspear are not neighbors by any stretch of the imagination. She came here for some reason--perhaps of her own will, perhaps as a pawn. Why?

Arcturus stayed closer by his father while Revui seemed eager enough to join Hydra, who had charged forward. Llewellyn is there, Charon realised when he arrived to see Hydra collide with some wolf that Charon did not know of Llewellyn filled in the gaps and Charon did not waste any time to command: "Get her." Charon didn't know who the hell Ceara was, to be truthful -- or maybe just didn't remember -- but he trusted Llewellyn enough for this information to be truthful and he trusted Hydra enough to know whether the attack was righteous. He was not yet in much of fighting state -- nor was it necessary to join, he wagered -- but it would be good experience for the boys to get some fairly safe fighting experience.

Hydra's ears flick backward as she heard the sound of gnashing fangs hitting only air, and her enemies body thudding against the snow as her opponent fell. Hydra was swift enough in her turn to evade the others sloppy fangs as they sought to rise: keep her down, she demanded of her brothers, and when she spoke she felt the nearness of the others teeth to her foreleg. The vulnerable area was quickly withdrawn as she left the bitch to the wolves, listening to her subordinates explanation.

Her fathers command did not fall on deaf ears, either. Hydra bristled. That this was the wolf that attacked Llewelyn caused her fury to rise, and Hydra snarled. Hydra wanted to kill her, for that—should kill her... and after a threatening strike toward the strangers face, Hydra determined there could be things learned before this. Why are you here? Hydra demanded, fangs bared. If Hydra did not like her answer, she had decided that perhaps she would watch her brothers kill her. They were new to it; it would be slow and torturous going, and deserved for Flicker's actions against her packmate. Against Blackfeather's keeping of her most despised enemy.

keeping this vaguey vague since i saw references of the brothers holding flicker down? dont wanna PP plz <3

it was not until charon's bidding that arcturus lunged for the female, a black and silent flash come down upon flicker like a well of black clouds. arcturus fell alongside revui, working in quiet tandem alongside his able brother. despite the rift that had grown between them as of late they complemented each other well - shove here, bite here -- they were a tremendous blur of grey and black energy.

he stilled at hydra's command, hulking over the she-wolf as if she were his prey. his eyes were watchful and unblinking, waiting for any further edict.

Revui followed suit; as his shadow of a brother moved, so did he, immense and determined. It was Arcturus that reached the target first; he was lithe and fast while the silver brother was broad and strong, yet as Revui came for the girl he had all the intensity of a hungry leviathan — ripping through the snow, and then grabbing for any part of her he could grip with his teeth. Whether he was successful or not, Revui's boulder of a body rolled right up to where the Blackfeather wolf was located and was likely to steamroll over her - but Arcturus' hulking presence saved her from that. The two of them, together, would keep this prey cornered so that the family could do as they pleased.

The woman kept low, baring teeth at the wolves. The held onto her, two males large and unforgiving. She glared at them with venom as their teeth latched onto her, feeling flesh ripping slightly but she held fast, looking up to the dark female.
She posed a question.
Why are you here

She merely let her lips writhe up, but that was all. They were not to know of her agenda and that of Blackfeather. She started to twist, testing the grip of the males and pointed daggers at the others approaching. Snarling softly at the golden male. He was the problem here; not her.
"Let me go. Now." she spat, every word laced with a hatred -- hints of fear weaved under the layers of fury. She couldn't let them know she was scared; scared wolves got killed.

"You are not to know of my business. What have I done to you, this is not right!" She surged upwards, trying to pull her way free to sink her own teeth into the black female.

Charon was pleased to see that his commands were headed and the boys did their jobs. They would be rewarded for it later on, he would make sure of it. As she snapped to be released he bared his teeth in warning, then laughed at the foolish notion of 'now' that she demanded. She was in no position to make demands.

More rebellious words came, and Charon's eyes narrowed in anger. Answer the fucking question, or one of them will make sure of it, he demanded and he glanced quickly between Arcturus, Revui, Llewellyn and Hydra, the latter of whom had asked her question -- and maybe she had more. He, truthfully, did not know the situation with the blackfeathers entirely, so he didn't know what information they needed, but trusted his daughter could handle it.

advised to skip Llew!!! <3

The beginning of a snarl creased her features, though she quieted as her fathers strong, stern voice erupted forth. Hydra did not feel the need to explain herself, but echoed her fathers sentiment with a loud clack of her fangs that snapped violently together. The way she had looked at the golden once-prince had not been missed by Hydra, who simply assumed that she knew plenty. After all, her subordinate and packmate had said as much, and she trusted him more than she trusted any wolf that ran with a pack that harbored a murderer of children. She edged nearer, already of half a mind that the others whimpers might satisfy her far more than even a legitimate answer would. It was the other half that maintained its grip upon her, but it was clear she would not ask again—or stand for silence. Answer true, Hydra commanded coolly, appearing eerily calm as she waited. Flicker had found herself in the eye of her storm.

omg next time SMACK ME if i hold up a thread like this!!! please skip me in the future omg i am ashamed <3

between the forceful command of his father and the cold gaze of his sister, arcturus was sure this wolf would crumble. if not crumble, perhaps quail enough for them to make use of her -- he moved closer, a blackened fiend with razorbacked spine as his hackles lifted.

he was ready to do whatever charon or hydra willed of him -- and his lip curled in determination as he awaited flicker's answer.

Revui was not one to sit back and wait, and his impatience was growing the more the stranger refused to answer. He was incised to grapple at her shoulder, snap at her face, do whatever he could to keep her rooted but also incentivise the necessary response. In his eyes flashed a dangerous level of aggression - this seething leviathan, ready to be set loose with one word from his superiors. A savage dog on a very thin leash.

The woman grunted, growling softly still. If any of her attackers made further move to harm her, she made it clear she wouldn't stand for it. She bristled softly and rose up, not wanting to be some pinned, cowering weakling. Blackfeather Woods wouldn't appear as weak.
"I'm hunting and scouting. No, I'm not scouting your savage pack. In case you didn't notice I gave you the widest birth the mountains allowed."
Challenge shone in her eyes as she tried to force her way up, trying to meet the gaze of Hydra and Charon. She had half a mind to turn on the two that held her but... it'd prove more useful to face the leadership.
If they were indeed that; the other black female, that looks uncannily like the one before her, seemed more refined and powerful than these. These savages.
Like she could talk.

She said she was just hunting and admittedly, Charon didn't have all the information. He actually wasn't too sure what the Blackfeather wolves had done wrong but Charon also trusted his pack mates enough. He glanced briefly at Llewellyn, trying to get a grasp for what information they were even looking for really. But when he looked back he noticed that Flicker was staring at him and Hydra and trying to get up, rather than smartly show submission.

Get down on the ground, dog, he snarled at her. Charon wasn't too sure they needed more information from her but he was growing impatient. Chip her ear, he commanded the boys, figuring one could hold her down while the other performed the task. He wanted her to have something to remind her of her insolence. He hadn't intended to hurt her but everything was different now that she refused to show the submission she should under the circumstances.

skipping hydra <3

arcturus marveled at this woman's insolence, sharing a quick glance with revui the way two thugs might gleefully exchange a look in a tavern, having found a drunken target in which to befriend and then later, after too many drinks on the generous patron's part, might rob and mug him senseless. before he could impart any witty remark, his father snarled and ordered the woman down, instructing them to cut her ear.

all too willing to shed blood, arcturus silently leaned downward, fangs bared as he made for flicker's ear.
