moonwoman had not slept well.

the dream spirits had come to her and given another vision. she had awoken not to see the good earthen walls of her ulaq, but the open sea. frost touched her eyes. ice touched her mouth. the long salt slept under the cold sky.

but it lived, and as kukutux watched, the cold surface split to reveal the black and white markings of the orca. her people had called them wolves of the sea. she saw it now as the great eye roved to watch her.

and then brother aaglu was gone, back down into the depths with his pack.

kukutux shivered. she looked around herself and saw that it was the plateau where she had met @Aiolos. there was peace in her heart, if only for a moment, and then the sea began to roil and race.

a woman's head, emerging from the waters; shoulders, hips, waist. "sedna!" moonwoman cried aloud in her sleep.

the luminous green eyes so like her own bored into the duck's soul.

"you will come to this place to dance with your husband. great power will grow in your womb."

kukutux felt the shadow of another figure, and turned. she knew this shape though the eyes were veiled to her.

"your fire-time will come together."

kukutux awoke. she said nothing to those of moonglow; she took only her wrap and went up to the high places of moonglow which always held snow. she fed blood to her altar and sacred items, and sat with back straight to think upon what she had seen.

sun man, breaking in two pieces but he did not die. his light only blazed strongly. tooteega, beckoning; she had touched kukutux with leaves of a plant found only upon that dead island and said those spirits had not forgotten their daughter, who at so young an age had brought those who died into the death ulaq and sang for them a path to the stars.

kukutux opened her eyes and looked toward the sea. yes. it would be so. moonwoman and sun man.

and @Sakhmet.
