All Welcome
official southlands moving thread for mereo! @Fennec @Aquene @Minne @Kallik @Tierra @Atreus @Alstromeria @Killdeer @Paeon

reyson was unwell. tierra was wounded.

his trip with his wife must be postponed.

germanicus sent a small patrol headed by glaukos ahead of the pack. his yellowpaint eyes surveyed the land, the stacked furs, the gathered meat.

it was a day's move.

"come," he said to them all. "let us begin anew."

as the imperator led their march through the canyon, snow began to softly blow.

Fennec wasn’t happy about the circumstances but they had time. She was eager for the trip but as time went on she also worried about it. She trusted him. She’d trusted others.

It didn’t matter how different this was. She wondered how long it would take him, alone with her, to realize he’d made a mistake. It was a stupid enough insecurity that it wouldn’t stop her from going. It did have the benefit of making her feel better about the delay.

They’d scouted the south and she’d learned some of it, though she’d likely spend the next few weeks learning its details and wearing the trails into her spatial memory. Right now she let Germanicus’ sure step, and the sense of the pack around, lead her.

Fenn is blind, and as she's older, will take all of her character insight from tone.  If you are ever uncomfortable with an assumption she makes, please let me know!

Germanicus had given him many tasks since his first day in Mereo and Atreus had risen to them all, save for this one. Well, he’d accompanied Tierra on that first foray… but after what had happened, he hadn’t gone back to the south end of the canyon. He put his energy into other items on his to-do list and wondered if the Imperator, Tierra or anybody else would come after him.

That didn’t happen, though there was a quiet wariness about the young man as he joined the others and readied to undertake the official migration. Atreus didn’t say anything to anyone and didn’t really make eye contact, either. He shuffled toward the piled provisions, picked up what he could carry and began loping steadily southward alongside his comrades.
