Towhee remained utterly oblivious to the angry figure on the shoreline until she eventually decided to head there herself. She kicked her legs to swivel around, only to continue treading water when she beheld the pale she-wolf prostrating there.

She stared for several beats, not entirely sure what to make of the stranger standing so threateningly. Towhee just wanted to exit the water and leave. She glanced over her shoulder, trying to measure the distance to any of the further shores. She supposed she could swim for one, though what if this inexplicably furious woman followed her, blocking her?

Fully facing her, Towhee pushed a little closer to shore, feeling the insistent heat burning in her core and spanning outward. Her bafflement quickly turned to irritation at this would-be cock block.
