A stench wafted into her nose before she’d taken more than five steps. Towhee grimaced, the smell hitting so much more intensely in her condition. She could feel her gorge rising as she almost reluctantly turned her head, trying to pinpoint the source of the foul odor.

A wolf approached, his size making her wary. Towhee immediately noted the stiffness in his gait, as well as the pelt thrown over his shoulders. She thought very briefly of Kukutux, though this was no fox skin or deer hide. It looked like it could’ve belonged to a wolf, which made her fur stand on end.

She couldn’t speak well if at all, though that didn’t stop the Elder from letting loose a loud growl. The vibrations hurt the root of her injured tongue, though she paid no attention to that. Her orange eyes bored into the stranger, her demeanor demonstrating that he wasn’t welcome to come any closer.
