Ive lost motivation for Shey and want him to die. i rlly dont know how these things work but feel free to have your OC come up and kill him in battle. I do want him to die fighting though, and while he's nothing special, he's decent at battle and wouldn't be killed so easily realistically.

Since joining the Rise, Shey hadn't done much. So today he set out to hunt. He ventured from the area around the Rise, to just a bit farther, so that way the pack-scent wouldn't have reached here and scare off prey. He caught the scent of a rabbit, and started to stalk it, but he was too trained on it that he missed the scent of another wolf, who probably had its eyes on this same piece of prey.

Shey is a very friendly wolf. He won't provoke anyone and if someone seems down or mean, he'll try to help change their attitude instead of pushing them into a fight. Don't get him wrong though, he can fight. If he is attacked he won't try to talk things out, but if he is threatened he will. Despite his young age he is mature enough to understand these things and realizes what is worth a battle and what isn't. He isn't afraid to flee a fight if he finds it unimportant and pointless.
-
Shey is also confused over his sexuality. He's bisexual, but definitely masculine leaning. He just struggles to understand his feelings for men and his significantly lower feelings for women. Though he is still young, he is still interested in finding a mate.

snagging as i said i would in discord! <333

Sovereign was still away from Hildibrandr.
Bjarna had been an interesting interaction, and the child desired more than to simply just return home without something...

Or someone.

She saw the male wolf not too far off, and would start to creep up on him from somewhere off to the side while he was distracted with whatever he was hunting.
This was more or less to prove to herself that she could fight and do so without help all the time.
Not that she didn't appreciate the backup when the dark man attacked her, but she was too far from home now to get such.

She would fight this lone man and win

Closer, closer, closer...
Minding the mild limp still in her right foreleg-

The snow was handy in covering the majority of her stalkish approach, predatory and prowling, the mirrored image of her mother, Fullvalda, back home.

She would crouch a few good yards beyond reachability before she exploded forward, aiming her teeth for Shey's cheek and the rest of her mass for his side in an effort to take him down in one go.

Without the experience of her mother or even her father, it was not a likely success, but one she would gladly take if fate was hers to bend this day.

Shey came into realization of his attacker a moment too late. He was able to protect his face by tucking his chin, but the young woman who had leapt at him and was able to get him to the ground. She was quite large, in comparison to his average size. He grunted as her weight brought him to the ground, landing on his right side, with her pinning him from his left.

He kicked out his legs strongly, attempting to drive them into the white wolf's stomach. He tried pressing up with his shoulder at the same time, but knew she was much too big for him to probably be able to get her off of him.

The commotion on their doorstep was hard to miss.

Masquerade crouched and slunk toward the sounds, careful to screen herself from view at all times. When she finally came close enough to see what was going on, she tucked herself behind a tree and peered surreptitiously into the neighboring marsh.

From her slightly inclined vantage point, she watched as two wolves fought one another. She swallowed thickly, trying to figure out if she recognized either one of them. But they were moving too quickly for her to clock them.

Feel free to skip, since she is just spectating.

She succeeded!
Kinda
Her teeth didn't catch his face like she wanted, but she did get him to the ground.
For maybe half a second...

before his legs struck her stomach and launched the child backwards a good couple feet.

She did not pause as her legs retouched the snow, diving for Shey again with a violent bloodthirst

Little did the Princess know that her actions here today would have consequences.
As the daughter of a queen in a terrain with very few neighbors, Sov thought herself untouchable until Void, and even now, she did not yet fully grasp the reality.

Her teeth again for Shey, jaws reaching for his throat in viperlike fashion.
Unaware of the current audience whose borders she did not fully note in her desire to fuck this man's shit up.

Shey again tried to move his face but was caught roughly on the cheek this time and the white girl, (that sounds a lil racist, whoops), ripped a good chunk of flesh off his cheek, causing it to spray blood onto her white fur. He growled, a low, deep, sound, that was rarely heard from the kind young man. He dived for her legs, noticing and old wound on one, well, still fairly fresh, and trying to snap his jaws around it and dig his teeth in, to make the pain come back.

Sov felt the tang of blood splash across her tongue, as well as her fur.
Then the teeth of her opponent going for her injured foreleg-!

Anger fuelled the Crown Prince as she aimed her teeth for the base of Shey's skull, where if she was able to bite down with enough force, assuming she hit, she might unknowingly hit a vital part of his spinal column.
A blow like that may kill him if it connected in the right spot, but she didn't know that yet. All she wanted in the moment was to bite down and get enough of his nape to thrust him away from the healing forelimb.

Bloodthirst and adrenaline continued to thrum in her veins like liquid fire.

Shey felt her teeth connect with his head. He felt pain for a moment but then only cold. His body dropped to the ground, paralyzed. But only for moments was he alive in this state. There was about 10 seconds of him lying in a heap on the ground, unable to do literally anything, but his eyes were open. He tried to direct them at the girl, hoping to make eye contact with her one last time, before his eyes shut and his breath escaped his body for the last time.

He had no idea what had happened, but he knew the girl had hit a spot in his head that had killed him. He assumed she'd somehow hit something connected with his brain or spine or something, something fatal.

It was immediate, the way the man suddenly dropped into a heap on the ground.
He didn't move.
She knew he was alive only for mere moments as her amber gaze connected with his, before the man went lifeless, still, with the closing of his eyes.

Oops...

She hadn't meant to kill him, but outwardly this likely wasn't clear, given her cold and almost if not detached demeanor in reaction to the matter.
The child would proceed after a moment or two, to grab Shey's corpse by the scruff and start dragging him away.

She would not head directly for home just yet though.
Some part of her knew that something like this called for not leaving a trail directly to her doorstep.

Unaware of any potential company, the youth would head southward, intending to wander around for a while until she was certain that nobody would come trying to find her and her prize.

She fidgeted as she watched the scene unfold. Masque didn’t think she knew either one of them but she had so many questions. Why were they fighting? Why were they so close to the rise? Should she call for an adult to intervene?

Before she could decide, one of the wolves dropped to the ground. Masquerade sucked in a sharp breath, leaning forward. Even from here, she could see that his eyes were open. Yet he didn’t move. A cold feeling crept through the Toward’s veins when she realized he was dead.

The white she-wolf had killed him. Now she began to tug the corpse away as if she intended to feed on it. Alarm mixed with apprehension. Masque knew she needed to make the members of the rise aware of the threat, though her heart pounded as she realized she would make herself a target by calling.

They couldn’t let the killer get away with this. Wetting her dry lips, Masque stepped behind the tree and threw her head into the air, calling on the power of the rise, fellow youths included: @Avicus, @Prophet, @Augur, @Aventus, @New Snow, @Ashlar, @Ancelin, @Lilia, @Redd, @Bobcat, @Relic and @Reki.

A call rang out from somewhere else.
The summoning of numbers.

Well, that was a problem.
Promptly, the pale child would drop Shey's corpse and turn into a streaking bolt as she fled the scene, still southward did she go.
Not yet as weighted as her mother was, Sovereign still had some decent speed within her, enough she might possibly get away.

She ignored the protest of pain in her foreleg in her efforts to flee as unscathed as possible.

bobcat is quick to answer masquerade's call, having strayed too close to the borders — though probably not without an adult escort of which he would've been studiously ignoring as he 'played' at 'patrolling'. he finds the bloodkissed girl, sharp golden gaze taking in the scene beyond her.

a corpse — an adult corpse — crimson stained pelage and snow with freshly spilt blood; the pugnent scent hanging heavy and dreadful in the air.

a fleeing phantom, her tracks in the snow indicating that she was, at least a little bit, injured.

bobcat's instinct is to chase; categorizing her immediately and without preamble as a target.

he itches to chase, to track, to follow ...but he lingers by masquerade's side instead, exercising logic in lieu of brute instinct, a low rumble lingering in his throat.

She knew she had revealed herself to a highly dangerous wolf, though when Masquerade peeked around the tree, she only saw a flash of white in the distance. She blinked owlishly, wondering how someone injured from a fight could possibly flee so fast. It was dismaying and relieving in equal measure.

Her eyes dropped to the bloodied body, her hackles prickling. She stepped out from behind the tree to go down there and inspect the scene of the crime, though she hesitated. What if the white she-wolf returned? Masquerade decided she should wait for reinforcements, just in case.

When it was the pack’s youngest member who joined her first, Masque instinctively shifted between him and the nearby borderline. She pressed close to him, nosing him, feeling the growl rumbling in his throat. She was proud of him for heeding her call, ready to defend his pack, but she felt immensely protective of him at the same time.

Let’s stay put until an adult comes, she murmured to him, goldenrod eyes flicking between the rise and the battered heap in the marsh.

augur was a terrible sight.

he charged without hesitation and bristling past the young wolves, his stride twice as long as that of any child. if any stood before him they would be knocked aside in his wrath.

the scent of blood and the sound that had been in warbler's voice fired him.

his tail slashed for them to follow, and his great jaws stretched for the retreating heels of the wounded white wolf.

half a moment later, ancelin arrived rather uncertainly. he looked in horror at the bloodied heap which was recently a packmate, then looked helplessly for masque.
and his brother, who he knew was not here.
augur's retreating form fired the boy, and he took a couple of steps down after the hunt-leader, slowly at first and then slipping into a lope.

He swept down on strong limbs.

To commit a crime so close to the Rise could not go unpunished. This was not the first time the Rise had lost a body and he seethed to think it had happened again.

He chased on the heels of Augur and in turn placed himself on the heels of the sinner.

He would not be satisfied till he tasted blood.

feel free to skip & pp bobcat as needed. <3

bobcat watches, perhaps a bit taken aback, as masquerade shifts between him and the borderline, pressing close and nosing him. bobcat had been content to assume that she wasn't overly fond of him, simply because she refused to take him exploring ( an entirely unfair assumption ). this confuses him but he does not focus upon it for long, trying to curb the instinctual needling to hunt, the image of the pale, injured girl's back turned to them haunting him.

but he was too young, reminded of this by masquerade's words of caution: that they should wait for adults.

if only he were older!

but, this time, he does not attempt to move 'round her or argue in his nonverbal way. though the fleeing perpetrator was prey as far as bobcat cared to see it she was also dangerous. she had killed a full grown adult, after all.

it is not long, though, before his father and two other adults race by, race after her. bobcat waits beside masquerade, waiting for instruction.

her daughter's call shakes her from hunting reverie, and she glances quickly at @Relic before they both take off, her more slender form outpacing his bulk. they arrive to a chase, and in the chaos of the moment, she crosses nearly perpendicular to the fleeing wolf's path.

she locks eyes with the attacker. golden, ablaze in recent conflict.

a very large white-furred woman.

Avicus doesn't hesitate. she immediately leaps into the fray, surging past them all, eyes locked upon the pale retreating form.

Nyra.

she'll bleed for this
but see, amid the mimic rout,
a crawling shape intrude —
a blood-red thing that writhes from out
the scenic solitude

Lilia had been hunting not far from where the incident occurred, but as soon as she heard the urgency in Masquerade's call, she bolted. Her breath came in heavy pants as she pushed herself to go fast, but she was so far away, she had to drop her speed in order to make sure that she would make it to where Masquerade's howl had come from.

She found Ancelin's tracks and followed him. He loped along behind Augur and Prophet, and Lilia could just see the form of Avicus in the lead. There was blood on the ground, and the tracks they followed belonged to a wolf. Lilia pushed herself so that she could run alongside Ancelin, growling softly as she joined the wolf hunt.

It was New Snow who came upon them next. For her part, she kept near the young, bristling and rooting her man on with a fearsome snarl. It would be good for them to watch, though, too see the consequences of this strangers actions. For a wolf to kill another so near to its own hunting grounds... it was strange to New Snow, and in her experience revealed the intent to return to claim the grounds as its own, perhaps with more.

New Snow made a low nose for Bobcat. He would know it, translate it to the others; keep close. Watch. She drew after the boy who trailed her man, snorting lowly in an effort to iterate her advisement that he be careful!

She threw a look of gratitude to Bloodspot before her gaze shifted toward a girl who reminded her of a Wolverine. And so, Lilia became that to her; New Snow darted ahead to offer the same advisement. Best to watch and see, and let the adults handle this one now that there were plenty.

New Snow waited for any command to be provided to her, but was content knowing that the intruder was in the capable hands of their leaders.

They were upon her swiftly.
The young Prince kept running, as fast as her legs could go, but it was not enough as a furious red streak came ar her from the side.

Sovereign attempted to leap out of the way and run a different direction, but her weight landed on her already injured foreleg and thus, she buckled and collapsed into the snow - ripe for the Redtail Rise wolves to descend upon her.

The Prince would snap her fangs at whomever she could and fight and thrash and kick and buck but there were too many.

She would not escape here unscathed, and for the first time in her young life, the child of Fury felt raw fear.

Sovereign is escaping in her next post as was planned, until that point, feel free to attack and wound her excluding loss of senses and appendages etc! This has been a very Chaotic and fun thread! <3

Like bullets they came, flying past the two youths. Masquerade held position and motioned for Bobcat to do the same, at least until Ancelin appeared. He slowed to exchange a look with her before loping after the myriad adults, which the Toweard took as a cue. They vastly outnumbered the slayer now, so it would be relatively safe for the Bearn.

All the same, she instructed Bobcat to remain close to her as she pressed her muzzle to his shoulder to begin the forward march. They gave the corpse a wide berth, though Masque’s gaze lingered on it as they passed. She caught the stench of blood and realized, with a pang of horror in an already horrific situation, that the wolf smelled of the rise.

Surely their cavalry would overtake the guilty party and make her answer for her crime against the rise. Pacing herself alongside the younger wolf, Masquerade clenched her teeth as yet more comrades flew past, including young Lilia. She was about to call out to caution the smaller pup when New Snow ranged past, hot on the “princess’s” heels.

Wondering if Bobcat might want to go with his mother, Masque met his eyes and nodded. He would be safer with his parents than with her, she supposed. Still she would bring up the rear of the deadly caravan, realizing as she loped along that this was beginning to feel very similar to a hunt, only with higher stakes.

The sounds of a great commotion ahead made her pick up the pace, heart pounding in her chest as she smelled the scent of blood in the air. When she came upon the scene, she hung back from the chaos. Riveting though it was, Masquerade made sure to look around for Bobcat and Lilia.

the rise wolves gathered and roiled.

blood burned in the air. his great teeth grabbed for her muzzle and there augur left his mark.

new snow and mountain boulder and blood eyes and red woman — terrible.

he would bite and slash until the whitefurred killer managed to squirm away.

ancelin watched, bristling and pacing.
but he hung back by masque, not wanting to involve himself just yet. he glanced toward lilia and then toward bobcat, then back toward his cousin.
the young fighter stalked around the fringes of the fight, growling loud encouragement as his muscles rolled tensely.

vague to damage ofc, but pm if need to edit

He wanted death in return, he wanted blood spilled in full.

It was maybe not to be, but still he aimed for it. Teeth pulling loose pale fur at a nape and shoulders. He followed the pattern of Augur, striking when the other man pulled back for space.

Redtail Rise would work in unison to leave their mark upon the girl who had been so foolish.
