All Welcome
Traces of Yuralria’s scent peppered Moonglow’s pathways… yet Ipiktok’s sister was nowhere to be found. They had never bonded or knew each other well. To Ipiktok, this meant little. To him, lineage was everything. The very fact that they had bloodties was enough to make him feel connected.

He nearly burst into moonwomna’s ulaq. “Yuralria… she was here?” he asked @Kukutux.

ipiktok, fine son of vaire.

ipiktok.

kukutux drew a breath, beckoning the sivullik of moonglow to the familiar hearth.

"yuralria returned for a short time. she said she means to make a path away from moonglow."

heart, aching.

"she does not wish to follow me or your mother."

The excitement quickly drained from Ipiktok’s face.

Away?“ he said with concern as his strong brow knit together.

“What do you mean away,” he asked rhetorically– for Ipiktok knew!

And Kukutux said it plainly. The solemnness of her expression was the period at the end of her sentence.

“I’ll go after her,” Ipiktok scoffed as he imagined all the ways to knock some sense into her thick skull. “Which way did she go?”

"i mean, ipiktok, that yuralria will not be returning. she means to go away. and she does not want to be moonwoman. these are her words to my ears."

a paw raised to pause her grandson. "do not go after her. your sister's mind is made. it is what Sedna wants, or else the thinking would not have been placed on her heart."

Go away! Does not want to be Moonwoman!

A paw raised, and Ipiktok would not cross her.

Waves of confusion, hurt, and anger crashed over the young hunter, worn plainly upon his proverbial sleeves. His maw was wrinkled into a taught snarl as his eyes searched his grandmother’s face for some sort of… something! He didn’t know… and maybe it was the not-knowing that made him feel so scorned by Yuralria.

The Nuiruk’s blood grew thinner.

Ipiktok could not bottle his emotions… and so he tossed his head and left Kukutux’s ulaq just as abruptly as he had entered.

he was angry, but he heeded.

kuktutux watched him storm away, saw the broad shoulder tense with anger.

she sat down hard when he had gone from view.

what must be done?

for the first time, she did not know.
