All Welcome

she's looking for SWC wolves! @Arric @Akavir (for visibility since that thread is in progress!

silvertongue came bright and early one morning, bearing a single rabbit. it would not feed two brawny men who had fought off a group alone. but perhaps she was better off serving different hungers. still it showed goodwill. silvertongue sniffed at the musky borders and then called delicately, pacing along the treeline with an eagerness that still did not trespass.

Arric was on border patrol this morning, and he moved towards them with a manic energy. His mind swirling and swishing about his head. Though it was not an unpleasant thought, it was the usual. Things he always thought of.

Though he was thrown from his thoughts by the scent of blood and then another. He frowned and turned towards it, blue eyes on the horizon.

He stopped at the delicate creature that paced their borders, though she was respectful. He gave a soft rumble and moved closer. Blue eyes assessing.

Hello. A deep rumble of a voice curled around her.

the man who came to greet her was humongous. silvertongue stared at him for a moment, then recovered her poise and padded closer. his entire paw was almost the length of her muzzle! "hola, creek man," she purred up at him. "word has come to riverclan of two fighters who held off many. is this true?"

Pretty little creature in browns and greys padded up to him. He had to take a step back to look down at her. The language that came from her tongue was not one he recognized, but it was delicate and pretty in a way that fit her.

It wasn't that many, it was only three to two. Though we came out on the better end. What's your name? How did you hear about it?

he wasn't trying to be suspicious, but he didn't understand how word would have traveled so quickly.

Akavir was not far behind his behemoth companion—keeping together in the small numbers they held seemed a decent plan given they were uncertain if the band of rogues would be back for more trouble.

He caught only the end of Arric’s question—someone had been talking about them? Champagne eyes moved from his companion and to the ashen femme before them, assessing quickly and remaining silent and observant for now.

the massive man was immediately suspicious. before silvertongue could answer, a smaller but no less imposing male, also dark, appeared beside the first. so. these were the fighters. "a man," silvertongue answered in a purling tone, but her eyes said she would reveal no more of veran. "does it not matter that you have impressed me?" the vixen indicated the rabbit in the snow, barely warm by now. "i am silvertongue, of riverclan. i have come to make — overtures, señores," she went on, eyes flicking between the impressive pair.

Arric frowned at her words, but said no more. It was not his job to get answers from her. And she needn't tell him. If she wished to keep the name of her informant quiet, so be it. Some wolves preferred to operate from shadows, perhaps these two were like that.

Arric offered her a small smile, but nothing overt. Her voice was like silk, he was fairly certain, she was able to get what she wanted from many, and her name suited her perfectly well. Though the next words surprised him and he tilted an ear forward. Another pack nearby, he looked to Akavir.

I'm Arric Du'Andris.

Then he shifted and moved to the side to let Akavir take over the conversation, after all, he was the male in charge.

Akavir would have perfectly content to simply remain a spectator in the conversation—yet the sidestep of his companion indicated his moment of silence was over, and with a stoical glance to the she-wolf, he dipped his muzzle lightly in a gesture of greeting, his own form lumbering slightly closer.

“Akavir,” he offered, only to maintain a certain politeness. “Riverclan is a new pack to us. We’re only familiar with Kvarsheim thus far in the Rising Sun Valley. Which land do you occupy?”

arric du'andris politely deferred to the other unnamed man. silvertongue was no less interested in the massive creature, but she was here on an errand of business before pleasure. and so she too dutifully settled her attention on this akavir. "i am very familiar with kvarsheim. they are friends to riverclan and already we have begun our talks of trade." silvertongue grinned. "you have not heard of us because we are new and we keep to the long shadows of the hollow." she pointed with her chin, though her gaze stayed upon akavir's handsome face. "what do you call your land?"

Arric hid a smile at Akavir. His friend was so gruff, but he was a marshmallow. He was fairly certain and he didn't like others. Sometimes Arric enjoyed teasing by putting him on the spot, but in this regard. Akavir was the leader and thus he needed to make in rows with possible allies as well.

Arric's ears went forward at the mention of trade. Did they wish to do the same here, but he said nothing. Only listened closely, though he did study the small femme while he did so. So tiny. But she  had more spirit than most wolves, he'd wager.

He knew of the hollow and gave a mild nod—it would seem a fair place to settle, and thus far, he held the impression that these Riverclan wolves were at least a friendly sort—as was Kvarsheim. She spoke of trade—and he idly wondered where Lestan was. Wasn’t the boy supposed to be involved in these matters?

And then he had a sudden realization, and if he could have, Akavir would have scrubbed a hand right down his face. Lestan had mentioned with great fondness a she-wolf from Kvarsheim he had met—was he off romping around with her right now?

Amusement coiled in his chest, but he only offered a rumble of acknowledgement to the girl, gaze idly drifting to Arric to gauge his expression before looking back to her. “Swiftcurrent Creek,” he mused dryly, aiming to keep life simple. They were wolves aiming to claim the creek—they would simply abide by its name.

“And what does Riverclan stand for?”

arric's interest sharpened. and she saw the shadow of humour in akavir's face. satisfied by her own successful wiles, silvertongue smiled a honeyed grin at them both, these two fighting men listening to her words. swiftcurrent creek. it was a simple name. but she doubted either of them were simple men. "the stars," she said softly. "a wolf named crowfeather leads us. he is gentle and wise. he communes with the clan in the stars. but we are also a place of healing and peace." silvertongue wondered if the swiftcurrent pair had a woman between them. they were very eligible, and soon she-wolves might seek them out, if they stayed here. her glassblue eyes were shrewd. "those are the things we have as trade. and hunting, always hunting. but perhaps there is something else i might provide." she looked boldly at each of them, eyeing the scars and heavy muscles, wondering lasciviously if they had ever come together for such enjoyment.

Arric's interest was peaked, when she stated stars. He liked the stars. He could make a find friendship with these wolves. He felt perhaps. He should meet this crowfeather and get to know him at the very least.

Though he briefly thought. If they were healers and peaceful, who was to say they wouldn't be treated badly by encroaching wolves. Like the ones that had attacked them. Was this why they wanted an allyship. Their brute strength to their peace.

Her next words, the implication was clear. And blue eyes filled with mirth. He looked to see how Akavir would take that offer. If he even would gather it for what it was. Though it may cause him unrest, being he no longer had a love.

Arric was a fairly chill guy he felt, and he was a little more open minded than most wolves.

Her eyes sharp on him, she spoke of her pack. How serendipitous, or something like that… His brows arched for a moment, wondering if she worried about her neighbors now and the state they remained… if the wolves of the Creek would bring down utter chaos to the entire valley.

His gaze sharpened on her now as she spoke—boldly. His eyes only then took a moment to rove over her—study her in such a manner. And what is that ‘something else’?

Of course he believed to know what she meant. If she was so bold as to place such an offer down, he wanted her direct words rather than implications.

But he would allow her an out on that conversation if she so desired. And what is it you hope the Creek wolves can offer Riverclan?

arric's eyes were amused. akavir wanted more. his golden eyes cut over her figure, and silvertongue let her hip curve smoothly outward for his inspection. she found that they were almost opposite one another in this, the two men. arric, interested yet deferential. akavir, interested yet suspicious. he returned to their talk of business. "give a portion of any large kills you bring down to us," she said directly. "riverclan will do the same for swiftcurrent creek. and i want to learn how to fight." silvertongue lifted her chin with pride. "in exchange, i will visit your land three times a week." her eyes were silk on arric and then more challenging upon akavir, "and you will show me how wild men have a woman." her glassblue eyes were bright, anticipating. crowfeather or veran could negotiate for access to herbs. this was her forte.

Arric listened interested, wondering what she would want in exchange. Akavir, dared her to speak more. Demanding almost that she lay her words absolute down in place. A power move of sorts, showing his rough around the edges as well as his dominant personality. He wondered if Akavir realized how much he had just given away of himself to a woman who knew her way around a room if he was right.

She wanted to learn to fight. Arric quickly assessed her form and body. She was small and lithe, she could take someone down from the knees and near the throat. But she would need to be careful not to get caught in larger arms or under larger body. She would need to learn to move swiftly and then back again. Her's would have to be mostly guerilla tactics and defensive.

He tilted his head, thinking. You'd be more suited for guerilla and defensive fighting.

That was all he said, but he also saw no reason that they couldn't accept. Neither one of them were attached, the question was could they both share. Arric could, he imagined, but could the men in her pack, could Akavir.

He wanted to ask her if her leaders were okay with her sharing herself like this, what if one of them had designs on her?

Her technique for bartering was straight forward—demands of large kill and her offer for three visits a week to enjoy her company. He swallowed a chuff of amusement—not at her, but simply the brazenness she offered them.

Arric didn’t seem deterred by her offer, the Mayfair noted with amusement, and his eyes glinted between them both as the behemoth offered insight to fighting technique to suit her.

“Our packs will share the resources between our lands and work together when herds are traveling between them,” he negotiated. “And while we will have no qualms of giving extra to our neighbors, we would rather make a point to take time and hold one large valley hunt multiple times throughout the year,” he rumbled, wondering what she thought of this.

And then: “Your welcome to visit with a Creek escort in our lands whenever you desire, Silvertongue. It won’t be used as a way for trade and bartering though.” He paused, exhaling sharply, missing the warmth of his wife in that very moment. “I think you’ll find neither Arric and I are opposed to offering tips and training to any of Riverclan. Nor, do I feel you’d find either of us opposed to a warm partner on occasion who is willing and wanting. But it won't be apart of some arranged agreement or duty.”

the great man arric offered much to silvertongue. she eyed him with a wink and then turned her white grin on akavir. he bartered back, and while she appreciated the ethics of his offer, silvertongue was no simpering girl. "we will come to your hunts," she declared. "perhaps instead we each share our own kills in times of great snow and ice." winter had only just begun. "i enjoy it, akavir, and it is no burden," she said bluntly, her desire for him a flame in her clear eyes. "but i accept your terms. will you come to riverclan in a week, for a meeting with crowfeather and the others?" she again glanced between the men. occasional! she had been polished for this, and they would know it once they tasted her true offering. "i will still come three times every seven days, señores. you choose if we spar or tangle in those hours." silvertongue smiled. she felt the deal had been struck, though she left room for daunting dark akavir to counter her once again.

Arric tilted his head towards her, returning her wink, a small smirk on his face. But what Akavir said he agreed with. He wasn't a fan of any femme using her body to get something. That seemed a bit unfair and a tad unjust. Though he did take a minute to study her and then Akavir. So Akavir was okay with sharing, interesting to know.

I'll be there if Akavir decides to meet them. If nothing else than to meet the man who convenes with stars.

Then he waited, feeling that the conversation had met a natural ending. And there was favorable odds on both sides too.

“We will come to meet your Crowfeather.” He paused, eyes sweeping over her with a finality to their brief interlude. “And you can tell him we will be hoping to discuss a rambunctious crew of wolves who we would like to eradicate from the valley,” he continued, eyes casting their direction to Arric. The ragtag group might have only been within the creek stirring trouble thus far—but surely their neighbors could appreciate the want of keeping the unsavory group away from what could otherwise be a peaceful camaraderie.

Her words of promise stirred a certain bemusement in the man—he surely didn’t see it panning out to fruition, but for now, he simply cast her one last lingering look, turning and allowing his shoulder to brush upon his companion’s as he took his leave from the group.

their time had come to an end, and silvertongue was quite pleased with how it all had come to pass. she met akavir's eyes with her same teasing boldness. he did not quite seem ready to believe her. but arric — the vixen looked for him as well, as they all three turned away from each other. he would be willing enough, and she was eager to discover him. akavir was another thing entirely. silvertongue left the rabbit in the snow and returned to riverclan with a dainty step.
