Ouroboros Spine harmony

Today was a new day.

Unlike every other day, but wasn't that true for every day? However something like a milestone of sorts occurred today. Her eyes opened to see...not very much. Still she saw.

She was not even capable of babbling yet, but still she could mewl and cry. Vocalize all of her emotions in simple sounds. This new discovery brought on such a sound. Wiggled across the ulaq floor and looked to the pale shape that was @Kukutux.

Baby blues.

three of them had kukutux more spent.

her husband was close. her daughter was close. her sister was close.

and yet she silently struggled with the adjustment to a trio.

her shadow-smeared eyes still retained their delighted radiance however.

callyope's eyes opened on a warm afternoon as the golden light filled the denmouth. kukutux smiled.

"we say, 'they see the ice first.'"

Her sounds varied in scale.

UuuHHHuUu!

They were not sounds of an upset babe. Merely stimulated, uncertain what to make of this newfound gift, but the warm vibrations from her mother seemed to signal this was a good moment.

Awkwardly, she wormed her way closer to one of the forelegs of her mother. Tiny mouth nibbling at any toe she could get a grasp on.

callyope called to her mother.

kukutux sang back, extending her forelegs into a firm hill the pup could climb.

"you are like a polar bear cub," she told her daughter, chuffing low a warm breeze that ruffled the child's head. "your older sister sang to the sun each morning. i wonder if you will do the same."

in that moment she fiercely missed kausiut and wished her third daughter was here for these times.

Warmth, over her crown. She sung more for it. Worming along the hill, inching and inching. So much effort for such a tiny thing!

Polar bear cub,

If only her mother knew these would the most ferocious moments of her life. Her songs turned into soft mewls, gently tugging at the fur of her mother's chest.

callyope kept close.

kukutux tucked her against mother's heart with a small paw.

"you are the daughter of sun and moon. you too will be a light in the daytime sky."

she thought of kausiut. did murre know her words now?

Comfort, peace, things found in the chest of her mother.

Callyope rested in the shade of the moon but knew the warmth of the sun.

Her babbling songs did not cease, but they slowed. Content now. No longer crying just to cry. Tiny, pudgy limbs pushed against the warmth of Kukutux's chest until she all but had pushed herself onto her back. Then those same limbs weakly waved towards the face of moonwoman.

the duck kissed each waving foot with a mother's warmth.

"your legs already have such strength, aya," kukutux exclaimed softly.

"maybe you are meant to be a runner. a deer-hunter with your aja."

her cloudberry sister knew many things. moonwoman felt that she would be a good teacher.

She would bubble and glimmer with ice delight.

The kisses of warmth from mother brought the sun upon her face.

Softly, she babbled in a poor attempt to mimic the words spoken to her. One day she would whisper in the tongues of her mothers and sisters. One day she would see all there was in this plane and the next.

Today, she was only seeing things for the first time.
