Up the brim of the spine they went. Long legs carried both of them with a swiftness and her ability to lead them upon the best trails helped too.

It was time to bring her Dying Sun home proper. To make a place together upon the warmth of Moonglow. Share an ulaq, her mother had instructed. See that they could live as one.

She reached for him when the thought came.

A gentle touch of her nose to his jaw.

Home.

Her tail softly waved behind her. Was he ready?

*stumbles in inexcusably late* ;___; xD

He had seen a great many things these few short months alongside his Starflower. Wonder in the foothills below Moonglow, mystery in heights of other mountains. Hope intermingled with fear. But his shoulders felt lighter - or different, at least, as though the weight he had carried was no longer his to bear alone. Starflower had carried it with him, for him, had buried his troubles beneath the glacier melt.

They had both risen that morning a little different in spirit, and he, finally ready to let his shadows melt under the light of the moon.

She reached out for him and he lingered in her light. His soft breath billowed in a cloud before them. Lingering in the cold mountain air. And he leaned, ever gently, into that touch.

Home.

He had only ever reserved this word for the Weald, but he no longer felt at ease in the fog and the darkness. He would always be a creature of the night, but more and more, Callyope drew him into the day. A contradiction in his own skin.

He liked life better this way.

A small smile traced the hunter's lips.

Home.

Said with such certainty, he was certain she would know he was ready.

Again, a young daughter of his would bring a man home from another land, another pack. Again, he would wait for them to take his daughter away from Moonglow.

Even as new life formed in the womb of his mate, Aiolos felt a hidden sorrow. Samani was gone. Vaire was gone. Sialuk was gone. All to make packs and families of their own. There was a mix of emotions stirring in his gut, one which shown on his face as he pressed his forehead into @Kukutux shoulder and took a deep sigh. Proud and yet, sad.

He shown this only to Kukutux, for when he comes along the border, seeing Callyope standing at the side of an unknown wolf, Aiolos comes welcoming. Beautiful daughter... He smiles to her, coated in snowy furs of her mother, ginger brushed on her nose and ears. Who have you brought to our home?

He asks her, though his fiery eyes dance to Melaneus, filled with question and interest.

They were ready to walk in the light together.

Nights spent dancing among the moonlight and under guiding stars had brought them to this. A greedy kiss to his cheek before her father reached them.

His voice warm and welcoming. How could it not be! He was Sunman, the center of warmth.

He is Dying Sun. His name in the tongue of her mother. Melaneus. She breathed with delight, wild and radiant to let her hunter stand before her father!

I have come to bring him home.

in last summer she had seen the face of this boy.

now he came to them, this dying sun who looked to callyope as if he had seen nothing brighter.

she shared the sorrows of the sun-man. three daughters gone from moonglow with their chosen.

and yet they had not gone so far away. this consoled her heart and turned her eyes to gladness as callyope brought the strong boy before them.

home, her daughter said, and kukutux stepped to regard melaneus with warmth, though she waited for aiolos to speak, a touch of her own ancient deference.
