no posting order! <3

now it came to this time.

with @Ajei, kukutux sat, and across a string of hides rested @Aiolos and arrluk beside him.

"it is a different thing we do this day. i speak for ajei as anaa," kukutux murmured softly.

"ajei wants this man who has the name arrluk," began the duck in formality. "arrluk comes to ask bride price for ajei."

it had been known for some time, but she searched already for the happiness upon their young faces.

"we ask one wolverine pelt. six stoat. one seal. three white ermine. ajei asks for a fish from the tidepools of moontide. the fur of an otter, who is elder brother and given a good death after a hard fight. the roots of a willow-that-weeps, so it may be grown beside the grave of her mother shikoba."

a pause then, a look to her son. words must now be shared.

Aiolos it quiet in this, as Kukutux speaks for Ajei as her mother, requesting a number of things that both came from Ajei's wants and Kukutux own. She would not go easy on her son. Ajei was a wonderful young woman now and was deserving of someone to fight for her and between seal and otter, weasels and Wolverine, fight Arrluk shall. Aiolos had no doubt that his son would return when the business was finished, but thought of only how long he might be gone in order to do so.

There was a pitied feeling in his gut, deep and unsettling with a nervousness that he did his best to hide in the depth of his sea-green eyes. Yet despite his quietness, it was his eyes which would always give him way, so deeply churning with raw emotion - pained, determined, sorrowful, longing...

He settled at his father's side as quietly as the man which bore him, his features soft for the fire and frost young woman at his mother's side.

Arrluk dips his head with a respect as Moonwoman began, his heart fluttering with the words of Ajei's own returned deserve to have his paw in marriage.

His mother would not make it easy on him, either, as she spoke of the things he must bring back in order to call Ajei his bride. A price would be paid and Arrluk would do just that. There is a quiet unsettling in him, if only with the knowledge that this will be the first time he and Ajei had been seperated from one another for more then a day perhaps since he had gone on his journey to become man. He knew she would miss him. Knew she may worry but he knew what must be done and what a fine gathering of pelts they would have for the den they now shared together too!

I will do all that is asked of me, Moonwoman.

Brightly she looked on Arrluk who had grown from dearest friend to ember of her heart. Dearest friend. She knew the separation would be hard on both. And part of her worried deeply for they had lost so many. But Ajei believed that he would return that he would always return for her.

A soft blink at all that Kukutux asked of her son. What a large bride price. It would do them well in the future, but goodness.

arrluk promised these things.

ajei glowed with pleasure.

her son was formal and filled with great respect. kukutux gazed upon his face with pride. all that would be gathered was for he and ajei, to grant deep status to their hearth for future children.

"you will leave as soon as you are able," the duck said to her son, then grinned. "i have much joy for you both. the winter will end and when the sun comes back, a wedding."

her eyes glowed; she glanced between them and then in love to her sun man.
