It was time.

The family had merged for some weeks with their extended relatives, the boys getting to know their cousins, @Kukutux and @Aiolos witnessing their growth; now as the month began to reach its end, Kigipigak knew they were ready to return.

@Kivaluk and @Akkuma had grown in to themselves. There had been games, and stories, and even hunts among the men folk, with the women communing together some nights in private. Kigipigak was glad for the changes he witnessed in his family. The connections building between Natigvik, Moonglow, and Winterglade; albeit, soured by the news from @Cerne.

He would not let this spoil their departure. If they left one less man, then they left with lighter spirits. Kigipigak would not think on it beyond that.

He called for family to gather. It was time for farewells - but not the forever kind. A kiss spared for @Sakhmet, a happy glance to @Amalia, as they waited together.

Amalia stood near the pack she had been bound with. The ones she had bonded with and had joined them as they waited to return home. Home, what an unusual word to the shadow kissed girl anymore, but it was not a bad one. No, it was good to have these roots, she felt pleased here. Though she wondered at some of the solemnity that weighed on them and Cerne not being here. She chose not to dwell, she would hunt down the soothsayer, and ask him where he had been.

She returned the smile to Kigipigak and offered a bright smile to Sahkmet, and the boys. Time to return. She had traveled to and fro the last few moons, between the two. To keep the markers fresh. She had not wanted to come home to usurpers, and had determined that she would do this small favor for her leaders, who were slower than she, with young ones.

natigvik was ready to depart. she chuffed to @Stratos and @Callyope and @Ariadne to come with her. @Aiolos was close, as was @Samani. @Shikoba and mojag could not be far off. and perhaps Rodyn was hunting.

kukutux brought the natigvik wolves a small stack of scraped deerhides. they could be bedding when they returned to their village.

her eyes were soft upon the boys. her eyes were loving upon sakhmet. her eyes were gentle upon kigipigak. she smiled at amalia.

"do not be strangers," she said to them all, reaching to kiss faces and brush shoulders. "moonglow is one with you."

a small sort of relief that both washed ovr kivaluk and that he felt guilty about lingers as his father gathers them for their return trip. though he has learned much and enjoyed meeting his moonglow family, it became harder and harder as they weeks yawned out, to put on a jovial face and pretend that he hadn't grown extremely homesick.

as they began to get ready to make their departure, there is a pep in kivaluk's step as he lingers near his father; ready to be on his way.

the time for the sister pack to leave was upon them, and shikoba would ensure they would reach the borders with no trouble before sending them on their way. but before this, each would receive a polite brush of her nose against them, a kind gesture wishing them safe travels home.

kigipigak has done well with his family and shikoba only wishes to see it grow. though, during this time, she thinks back to mojag and inutsuk for just a moment. her son did share a moment with the backbone of natigvik, perhaps he was given the rare moment to experience what a true father figure is like.

she waves the idea off instead, as she'd worry and lose sleep about it later. for now, she remains quiet and content as the family begins their adventure home.

Aiolos had enjoyed the addition of their visitors. Moonglow felt full and strong, as it had when many pups had lived here due to Lote's large litter. As it had been when others long gone now had been here. Moonglow's strength still thrived, he felt, but the family had broken up in different divisions with Kigi and Lote's leave. It was good to see more of them together again.

The firey wolf pondered these thoughts, as in his jaws he carried gifts of the deer. A piece of an antler and a black hoof. He settled them before the boys, @Kivaluk and @Akkuma as little parting gifts. Your always welcome to return- anytime you wish. He spoke to the little family.
