this is the revealing of a pack idea that ive been floating <3

"soon the long snows will come. i feel that moonglow should move to winter hunting grounds. that way," she gestured easterly. "five days on this path will bring our village to duskfire glacier. wintersbane is leader there. he is ally to moonglow. we will make a new camp and ulax of snow. we will hunt the caribou. we will eat with their village."

"if it is well, then each year we will leave this place and we will go to winter hunting for skins and meat."

she looked to her sun man, then her daughter. "our children are still young. and so we will wait and travel in the first snows. but if you wish to stay in this village, speak these words now."

her jadestone eyes were warm as she swept the assembly.

lómion stared up at his ajâtsuk with mouth shut but eyes wide. this journey, it filled him with wonder. snow, duskfire, caribou. he wants to see it. all of it. curiosity tugged at his heart.
i’d like to go. he spoke quietly and to no one in particular.

Having already spoken to Kukutux about this endeavor, Kigipigak is not at all surprised when moon-woman brings it up before the others.

He is appropriately silent while she explains and while he appears attentive, Kigipigak is mentally miles away. He is thinking of the sea, of ravens flying overhead, of boar hunts with strangers and the distant memory of giving chase to elk in snow, as a boy.

Kigipigak draws a breath and tries to push the nostalgia away, if that is truly all he is feeling. As he returns to himself he hears, —wish to stay in this village, speak these words now.

Turning an ear and then shifting his glassy eyes about the gathering, he wonders if anyone will elect to remain within the village. The people of Moonglow will need somewhere to return to after, he thinks, but he cannot think of a more lonely way to spend the winter than alone like that.

Aiolos knew that usually when winter came, animals tended to travel south to warmer weather. Instead, Kukutux wanted to travel to Northern lands- a glacier, as she put. Large hunting beasts lived there- caribou, moose, ox. Some of which Aiolos had never before seen. It was a risk and yet, could also be profitable if such large game existed to hunt together.

You know I go where you go, He speaks and goes to rest his chin on Lómion's little crown. And our pups.

There was newness in the way ajâtsuk spoke. Vairë was interested immediately, plopped beside her brother and Aiolos with curious eyes on Kukutux.

I wanna go. Her brother wanted to go, so Vairë would follow.

The moon woman called to them and Foxfur did not hesitate to answer it. His lean shape trekked across the Moonglow territory to where he had heard her voice and when he had arrived, she had a message for them – members of the clan were missing, including children.

Kukutux spoke a warning for the man who had fathered the pups. Foxfur had not scented anyone at their border who did not belong to the pack, not in his patrols. Still, he noted it and made a point to remember when he ventured from the clan territory to search.

Foxfur would hunt the wilds for the missing children and would report what he could to Kukutux, if he was able to find anything of them. After all, the warrior had been there for several months and had still not found hair nor hide of the princeling Crowfeather. All he could hope was that these young wolves had left a trail. He would follow it and he would return them to their home.

I will search for the children and will follow the clan when they have been found, he spoke to the moon woman with a small bow.

Just one from me unless Foxfur is addressed.

A winter venture?

Inutsuk had never quite heard of a pack migrating for the cold season. Though, when the subject of fulfilling prey was lain out, it seemed to be more worthwhile of a thought.

Many had already responded, while he had been silent thus far. Personally, he had no objections. Prey here in the spine would be just as scarce anywhere else. If taking this trip gave those of Moonglow a higher chance of having full bellies, then he would be on board.

I follow where Sun Man and Moonwoman lead. He would finally speak, expressing his desires to join plainly, adding along a curt dip of his snout towards Kukutux.

It was a statement as always would be true. Where they led, he would forever follow.

the voice of change, a new pattern to bring about new life. flesh and blood are hard to find in the heavy winters of the wilds, but the hopeful tone of kukutux creates no fear within the sivullik. instead, she simply nods her head to the woman in agreement. wherever Moonglow goes, she will follow and lead where needed. sulphuric eyes gloss over each and every wolf that has spoken and shown their faces. each holds a certain love and respect from the native. for now, she is quiet, though she aims her head to look towards the moon woman, gaze softening. she will guard this woman until her last breath.
