She pulled herself from her ulaq mid-morning, breath billowing from her open mouth as she readied her voice to carry as far as possible—past their own claim and hopefully far enough to reach the other villages that they could also be informed. She wouldn't be surprised if Moontide was left out, and she would have to send a scout if she did not hear from them.

All! Join me in a howl to claim this glacier in village Moonsong's name! I thank all who have helped claim this land, and I will continue to do what I can to be the best Head for this village! she howled. Begin to prepare for your belongings—we will climb the glacier in two days to claim our home in the caves! Her voice was strong; she was proud, and it showed.

wanted to get a post in here even though jr has no idea that it's even happening. <3

towhee jr does not hear the song of claim is it rises over the glacier and travels from beyond the borders of moonsong's claim.

but her steps slow along the borders as ghost swoops down and perches upon her shoulders, nipping lightly at her right ear. she does not understand what is causing that strange behavior, repeated twice before with a huff he takes to flight, circling around him jr before letting out a call that she cannot hear.

with a simple shrug, she continues on her path along the borders.

has a juvenile peregrine falcon companion named ghost; can be freely pp'd in threads with her; with the exception of serious injury/death.

Danger was not passed but that could not halt all of life moving forward so Heph traveled towards the base of Moonsong's glacier to add her voice to the howl to affirm and celebrate. She brought with her the pelt of a doe she had hunted earlier and inside wrapped fish as Moontide was on the coast. She would arrive and greet whoever welcomed her with the gift.

The night before saw Kilgitsuk patrolling beneath the stars; he had taken refuge among a copse of pine trees a medium distance from Ariadne's own sleeping place, to keep watch and be ready for orders the next day.

He woke to her voice. Kilgitsuk did not initially share in the celebration; he thought of all that had brought him here, all that he had lost by taking a trader's name, and how this was more than a celebration of Ariadne's success to him.

Being here meant he was trying to be present. To be accessible. To move on and be better. As he lifted his head and added his deep voice and listened to it resonate, he sang a message that reached beyond Moonsong:

@Kivaluk, @Akkuma; your father is here in village Moonsong. Come and celebrate with us!

He did not know if they would hear him, or care, or even want to bring him back in to their lives given everything — but Kilgitsuk bore his shame, hope, and love openly in that moment.

shikoba's clarion call rings true from moonglow, sat atop the tallest peak of the spine. she remembered the warnings the duck whispered into her ears, and she thinks back to the silver tone of the man she believed she once knew. the backbone had drifted, ice in places where love was meant to be. at least, that is what shikoba was told.

for now, she does not challenge the words of the wise woman who has become her own flesh and blood. her voice cries with pride for moonsong, support for the development of another village founded in the ancient ways. she thinks quietly, alone on this mountaintop, and ponders the future that comes to her.

she hopes that her children may one day become something great. but if their future was meant to be walked in the shadows, then shikoba would watch with pride still, unwavering.

moonsong rose.

and with it, the voice of moonmother too lifted.

and it was kilgitsuk with whom she twined her song, for her heart had eased to hear him cry out for his sons, and in this some of her pain over sakhmet's departure had eased.

you are still kiggavik.

Dutch howled, too, singing not just to his pack mates, but to the voices he did not know, and for the distant ears of Valiant, even if he was not near enough to hear. His feelings of belonging had solidified; he did not know if he would stay forever upon the mountain, but it was with the moon wolves that he thought his fortune must intertwine.

Some voices he knew, others he did not. It was the voice of his daughter which he was happy to hear the most- the words of a new Moon village founding. He was happy for her, despite those concerns, despite the warnings. Aiolos would heed them and be wary, but he would not slight his daughter's success. The Sun Man too rose his head and sang of victory and joy.

When Ariadne's call broke the the morning mist, Tulugak could hardly contain her excitement

Feelings of pride swelled in her chest as pale paws drummed on frozen ground, a beeline course set for the temporary village. She wished to run straight for the red woman and sing her praise in person, but as voices rose all around her she found she wished nothing more than to celebrate in quiet while Ariadne remained a red beacon in the centre of all.

It was as she gathered what little belongings she owned into a neatly sewn sack that the raven realised how empty she felt. Though she had grown to love Moonsong, she couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Companionship, perhaps, connection? A shake of her head as she tipped her muzzle to the sky, her song rising as others did - a hymn to warm the hearts of Moonsong and beyond.

Thanks for joining! Going to wrap this up.

Several voices from around lifted into the night, and Ariadne sat back in awe as she listened to those who showed up for her. Pride swelled within her chest; she had done it; she was mighty. Tonight, despite the side conversations she eavesdropped in on, she would celebrate the accomplishments of her village; she would not allow anything else to overshadow this moment for her.
