a threat has been revealed in the flatlands and beyond, to the desert. pharaoh & consort invite warriors to join them in scourging such a threat. kukutux is calling for the leadership among gathered camps. this is optional and can also just be a reference point. single replies welcome but this may need to be rounds, powerplaying @Rodyn & @Aiolos as present <3, lmk if not good! <3 backdated to oct 7

@Ameline @Val @Reyna @Reyson @Meadow @Alaric @Sven @Ujurak @Akavir @Nephele @Callyope (i think these tags represent present leadership, kukutux is asking if anyone would commit

this is open to everyone who might want to eavesdrop as cameos <3

word ran through the camps.

moonwoman called for a meeting at the place of moonglow, and there she stood flanked by sun man and law-son, her eyes warm but her mouth set in grimness.

she spoke of the threat. she spoke of the children.

and she spoke of the man she had met, the man who had brought the powerful green and who might return. he had come as a trader; he may well come back.

but it was not with fear that she conveyed these things, but rather the quiet strength she had used in times before. they did not have a debt between themselves and akashingo. this was an opportunity for warriors to rise, to bristle, to travel. it was a time for those who had not gone far to extend their aims.

for now, kukutux did not commit moonglow to the endeavor, though the young men in their ranks might well rally for teeth.

but this, she insisted, this choice must not be made by the moonwolves for all. each village must choose for themselves. she did not expect answers this hour.

eyes narrowed. the moonwoman speaks of green, of a kingdom in dire trouble.

the pale matriarch only frowned. she would not fight in another man's war. especially when she had no soldiers to lend for charity. she sealed her lips, and watching keenly for those who stepped forward.

EDIT: decided she wont get involved

Rodyn did not yet know what he would do. But they had driven a bit of a stone between Akashingo and their villages now. And yet he could not regret it. Because Moonwoman had been right. It was every leaders choice. This was not a monarchy you did not do as you were bid and nothing else

A sharpness settled in his chest and he didn't know what to do or where to turn.

val was grateful for the sea then; in a way, the ocean was as insular as it was vast. these inland troubles rarely reached their shores. his daughters were lucky to never know the hard truth of tribal warfares. he feared the day they might ever taste the bitter fruit of that lesson.

it was mireille and chacal his somber gaze swung to once kukutux finished speaking. he wondered what they thought - if they had ties to this foreign tribe that might move them to action. surely, sobeille would want in on it — but he selfishly hoped she’d never learn of it.

he’d heard many things of royalty. of the wars fought, the luxuries earned and spent. of the peasants beneath their rule, and the king’s right to claim their lives as his own to dispense. he’d heard how farmer and blacksmith alike laid down their spades for shields, anvils for swords — ultimately laying down their countless lives for their kings and their cause. he did not need to fathom how many faceless thousand paid this bloodprice willing. but he wondered why it was he’d never heard a king lay down his life for a peasant.

did such a thing exist?

he thought of the man that joined his hunt. noble. striking. a strong man well bred by class. very different from roughshod val or anything he’d ever known. would this man look upon an urchin and think his daughter’s life worth saving?

in the end it was chacal and mireille’s call. his eyes found them in silence and spoke plainly: sapphique’s decision lays with you.

Akavir meandered closer to the back—stalwart and silent as moonwoman spoke—Akashingo bore trouble at their second palace—Muat-riya. A sharp glance about him confirmed Tavina was not to be seen, and he felt grim concern burrow in his chest. His mind turned to Eset, of course it did—but his worry bloomed further than the dark woman. He held others in esteem from the haughty palace—Toula, primarily, and Senmut, as well. Tavina, was another he would loathe to see hurt.

It was not a decision he could make now—not with the history he knew of, and what the creek could lose should something befall any of them with their assistance.

Yet the deserts were not far from their home—and if this group had already wandered from there and to the moon packs to distribute their ‘green,’ it would only be a matter of time before the valley came to their sights…

Stoically, his pale eyes drifted—looking for @Sven, curious to know what Kvarsheim would do.

Burdens to heavy for a young man fell to his shoulders. And he was again put in a place that he was unsure how to navigate. This was concerning. Extremely so. But they had no one to send he didn't think. Eivor maybe, Rusalka or Solveig but would they want to leave.

He could go, but how would that leave Ujurak? They both couldn't give and what if he never came back.

He took a breath and placed a paw to his chin unsure. He would bring this to his people. Perhaps seek the advice of Sqiftcurrent and Bearclaw
Because he was raised speaking both Icelandic and English. He has a slight accent when he speaks English

quietly they stood, but no one offered their warriors.

"moonglow will send no fighters at this time," moonwoman declared at last.

"tell your villages what has been said. the choice is for the heads of each."

she moved among them, murmuring; she saw that they glanced at one another and wondered if alliances would be made for this.

so far as it was kept a great distance from her lands, kukutux might offer healing herbs for those travellers to take.
